WOYWW 4th April 2012

Here we go again with the blog hop through the crafty desks of the world!!  If you aren't sure what I am talking about then you really need to pop over to the Keeper of the Desks and find out... and ask where you have been hiding yourself for the last couple of years!!
This is my desk at the moment... yes, you could say not a lot has changed since last week but honestly I have been working on the tutorial every spare moment!! Chris was home from site for a few days and left lunchtime to return to work, so hopefully I will get this finished in the next day or two...
I have had to deal with plumbers installing new taps and sinks in the bathrooms... mannies coming to measure up the rooms for new carpets and floor coverings because we are putting the house on the market in a month ready for us to leave Canada in July/August.... so the nightmare begins... packing up my scrap room and selling all the furniture.... urgh... I am dreading it.  On the plus side, I am going home!!  It will be nice to be in my own home again... its been 4 years and I am ready... just got to get through the intervening nightmare, pack and arrange the shipping and go to Michaels and buy everything in sight because I won't have that anymore!! ;)

  1. I don't envy you this task. I thought your house was brand new when you bought it, but I must have been wrong, or you wouldn't be putting all that money into remodeling it in order to sell.

I guess I should save all my Michaels coupons for you (grin). It will be fun seeing what you take and what you sell, like your lovely dining room set and other things Chris has given you over these past two years.

All this has NOTHING to do with your desk, though, so I look forward to seeing your tutorial on that book SOON. No number yet, but you know me, anyway (grin).

  2. Doesn't seem that long, how long have you been in Canada? I recall sending you links to all the craft stores in the Calgary area when you were still in Saudi! Will this be your final move do you think? Hope you get everything done and get some time for yourself too. I laughed out loud at you buying up Michaels but I know I'd do the same!

  4. What?? No Michael's????

    ARRRGH!!

Moving IS a stinker, isn't it?

  5. Oh, I do dread the time when I try to sell my place. Luckily I have a storage unit so I'd probably move as much stuff as I could into it. Yours sounds like a huge move though. When you say you're going back home - where is that?

I'm not participating this week but wanted to check in and see what you're up to.

    Hugs,
    Kay

  6. The very thought of packing and moving all my arty stuff makes me want to lie down. Unfortunately I am at work so that is not possible. But I could hyperventilate and hide under my desk. (Not that anyone would notice.)

  25. Don't envy you the move but it will be good to come home. Moving house is very stressful - says the expert who has only done it once and that was only 3 miles down the road.

  35. Moving even though you are going home is still a hassle. If I had to pack up my craft room for a move I would probably do better by leaving it and taking the furniture cost wise. Hope you have a great Easter. Vickie#60

  39. Better get a head start on that trip to Michaels! Ha, that truly made me laugh. I don't envy you to have to pick up, fix up, pack up and move stuff. It is a prime time to truly decide what material things are needed and what can be passed on-a great time to organize.

  40. Where is home? Nosey parker wants to know as I suspect it might be here - the UK?
Hope you manage to get all your craft stuff shipped ok as where you are going. Also hope you will still be able to treat us to the delights of your lovely creations with Graphic 45 papers. Do I espy something on your desk - a box with drawers?
Sorry I am so late, things got in the way. Thanks for sharing, stopping by me and putting your number (so appreciated.) Happy Easter - Hugs, Neet #10 xx

  41. The thought of packing my crafting room is enough to bring on a nervous breakdown, so I don't envy you. Moving house is bad enough without that. Where is "home" for you? Hope all goes well and you keep in touch with us all. Have a good Easter. xx Maggie #9
