I haven't fallen down the rabbit hole...

thought there are those out there that might think I have!  I have my Mum visiting with me, so we are catching up, chatting madly, shopping and getting ready for Christmas!
I got a new tree... it is a green tree with white fluffy stuff that is pretending to be snow all over it and I it seems when I was packing for Oz I didn't pack any decs either! :(  So we had to go and buy some of those too... and a lovely white owl that I admired in the shop seems to have made it to the check-out!
I have two very pretty tree skirts... yep, you guessed... not here... and I really don't feel like buying another so maybe I will make one... if I have time!
My Mum may be 80 years old but she can still shop till she drops!
I did have half an hour the other morning when the house was silent and I made some ballerina slippers I had seen on the Graphic 45 blog...
and my son is in Hong Kong and will be catching his next flight later today and arriving in Brisbane this evening!  It really is starting to feel a lot like Christmas....

  3. Oh my dear Annette. You posted the sweetest post this evening. I'm so glad to know you are OK, and that your mother has finally arrived for a visit. She looks ready to go again, too. And to read that Christopher will be there soon put a smile on my face.

When I first saw the tree, I thought that was one of the crazy cats in front of it. Of course, Bleubeard thought I was wrong. Boy, I was glad to know it was really an owl.

In a pinch, you can wrap a sheet around the tree holder, because no one will see it once all those gifts I know you have already purchased, will hide it, anyway.

  4. Great times for you and your Mum to be had. I miss mine horribly this time of year, but I know she is watching over me as I romp form store to store.
Your new tree is beautiful and the fella guarding it is a wonderful find.
    Love the ballet slippers.

  6. In the Welsh valleys that bird would not be allowed in. Very superstitious about birds in the house we are. Won't even have them on wallpaper or cushions. I don't know why.

Your Christmas is building into a wonderful time. You deserve it!
