WOYWW 304

This is what my desk normally looks like....
and this is my work desk this Wednesday morning!  I have cleared the wall under the window ready for the new window to be installed... a bigger lower window that I can sit at my desk and look out into the garden... it will make the room sunnier and lighter and much nicer to play in!
and I have been very ruthless with getting rid of stuff that I won't use so that the overspill into the sun lounge is not now a major hoarding situation!

Don't get the idea that I am cured... I still have far too much stash and a lot of it doesn't get looked at because it is crammed into corners of cupboards and I have forgotten it is there... so the declutter is definitely a ongoing situation... but I haven't given up yet!
Happy WOYWW to you all, I will be by for a visit between snow storms... yeah, so much for it being Easter and spring... obviously somebody around here didn't get that memo!!

  1. how lovely to be getting a bigger window for more light and a better view, my window is on the garden and my girls swings are in my line of view so i can play while they do :)
and we are all guilty of having unloved stash in the cupboards we have forgotten about but i always think of it as a bonus when sorting and you come across it :)
    happy woyww

  2. No matter where in the world VV is, I know it is always going to be stunning. Clutter is part of life, but a new bigger window will offer a distracting view. Make is easier to overlook? I love a good tidy up but I can then never FIND anything! Be warned ...
Happy WOYWW and I'm not fooling'!

  4. Bright and sunny here, but not warm at all, blowing a bleeding east wind hooley. Horrid. Oh the new window will make a big difference won't it. AS for being 'cured'....I assumed not, after all, I've never heard of a treatment!

  5. I love having a good old sort out!! I think it's quite cathartic really. Sloughing off the old and keeping the stuff you know you really WILL use as opposed to 'one day' :-)
Having a bigger window there will completely transform your desk area, what a great idea!

  6. Wow you wont know yourself with the sun shining through and the garden to look at, be careful you don't spend your days looking out the window for Mr and Mrs Inspiration. As for clutter we all have it some choose to show and others hide it. LOL Hope you have a wonderful Easter.

    Happy WOYWW

  7. How exciting ~ those new windows. I bet you're looking forward to the change. And I admire your ruthlessness in shedding stuff. That's something I work at ~ it does not come easy to me ~ but I. Do. It.

    EnJOY those new windows!

  8. The new window will make it lovely just make sure you don't spend all your time looking through it Lol!
I should be sorting my stash now but using the visits as an excuse not to Lol!

  10. You really ARE taking charge of the whole house remodel. I love the lounge area that you showed, too. It may be snowing in your world, but it's warm and inviting in your craft room and lounge. I hope the remodelers don't allow too much cold air in.

Yes, destashing and organizing are ongoing events, especially if you want to keep things neat and clean like you do.

Not playing, so no number, but stopped by because I was happy to see you doing so.

  11. A bigger window! That will be so nice! I hope it isn't too distracting though, which is what I often ponder when I think of moving over to the window (not that it takes much to distract me). I totally understand what you mean by you've gotten rid of (or plan to) lots of crafty stuff but you aren't cured. I've downsized A LOT but I think only I know, no one else can tell the difference as I have SO. MUCH. STUFF. even still. Judy #60

  12. Can't wait to see the new, bigger window - it will totally transform your craft space. Hope you enjoy your de-stash (mine will be mild by comparison) I will enjoy your share of the chocolate!! Helen #3

  13. I l-o-v-e your space. In Oregon my desk sits in front of a window that gets afternoon sun and a parade of deer and wild turkeys. Quite different from my space in Arizona (which was my work office for many years).

Happy Easter to you and yours.
    Thanks for sharing, Happy WOYWW

  15. No snow here, but high winds despite the sunny skies. How lovely to be letting the light in, once Spring is properly with us. Thanks for stopping by yesterday. My internet was not playing nice then so am catching up today.

  19. What a fabulous room you have to work in and how much better it will be when you have the light from your new window.
Missed you posting but occasionally have seen a picture of one of the cats on FB so have known you were around.
Got Flat Susan lined up for a couple of visits at the moment, but wonder if you are getting close to time to have her?

  20. To answer your question, we still get those plastic bags in the states. Everywhere, except Aldi and Sam's (the membership club owned by WalMart), where I bag my own. Everyone else will even double bag if you ask nicely, especially if they have good biodegradable bags.

  21. your 'sun lounge' looks inviting and welcoming.
but the work area is waaay too organized (lol)
a bigger, lower window is just the ticket!

  22. I've not been wandering around blogland much lately but I hope you managed to get your window done during our one week of fabulous weather in April! Now we're back to baltic cold you really wouldn't want to be getting windows put in! However if you're anything like me that's exactly what will happen!! It will be lovely to sit and watch out the window - don't get too distracted though! :D

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comment, it is truly appreciated - sort of confirms that it is more than my Mum and husband that read this thing! :)
