Want a Date?

On the short walk to the beach this morning I passed a few palm trees which were laden with dates!! Only problem is... 1. I don't have a step ladder and 2. the birds seem to be getting all the ripe ones!! I love dates... maybe a kitchen chair would do?
It wasn't even 9 a.m. and the sand was too hot to walk on without sandals... and the water was warm and I had my walk up and down and found some shells and a dead crab and loads of little stripey fishes playing in the shallows, then I hot footed (LOL, good that eh?) it back to the air con in the house!

Here are the three kittens, Gremlin, One Ear and Pandora asleep in the shade of the front door. They are all fighting fit again but Grem and Pandora need to put the weight they lost back on... their big brother appears enormous next to them!

  1. Ooh fresh dates..nothing like it. Definitely worth a try with a kitchen chair! What a temptation. I see from your UKS avvy that you're coming back this way soon - oh my, could you put some sunshine in a lidded box and bring it back for me?!

  3. Never tasted dates, but wouldn't be able to resist those fresh ones. Lovely cats too.

  4. Oh how unfair...try the chair - have you a grab stick or long-handled tongs that could extend your reach?

  5. Call me jealous - but I am rather glad you could n't reach them ... if you had been eating fresh dates while walking along hot sand next to a warm sea and all before 9 in the morning this post would have been unbearable ... I don't want much ... just for it to stop flippin' raining *LOL*

  6. The shot of the dates is fantastic ...love dates but have never had them fresh ....cannot imagine what they would taste like. Amongst all our cats we have a brother and sister that are at each end of the scale ... the male is our heaviest and is now about 7 kilos while his sister is under 2 ... hard to imagine
