A layout of my Mum and Dad with photos from 1973 when we lived in Marsa el Brega Libya.
My Dad standing on the beach with his sunfish sailing boat and my Mum, looking very young and glamourous, sitting on a huge pile of washed up seaweed further along the beach.
I love the contrast of the coloured/patterned papers and the black and white photographs. The papers are Hippy Chic from DCWV which seemed appropriate for pics from the late 1960's and early 1970's.
It has been such a long time since I worked on a 12 x 12 page that I had forgotten how to do it... but I'll keep practicing and maybe it will come back to me!!
I'd say you still have it, dear friend. Your combination of papers and photos was wonderful, and the black and white combined with the various papers you used that represent that era is stunning. Very nicely done, and it's good to see you are getting back into making art again, now that the remodel is about to wind down.
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding? I'm struggling to achieve this sort of beautiful scrapbooking...you've forgotten nothing! a and they are fab photos, aren't they, bet they make you smile every time you look at them...and Peggy too!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful LO Annette. The colours are wonderful and really make the B&W photos 'pop'. Really fabulous result.

You don't look like you are struggling with 12 x 12 Annette - I love the page - fabulous contrast with the black and white photographs as well! It's always fun to see someone else using papers that i've got/had - I puzzled a while and then you mentioned the DCWV reference and I'm like 'oh yeah I've got that one too' mine is now significantly depleted!
