Lav People

I was messing about last night and decided to have a go at cutting these lav people from chipboard and decorating them with the Love Elsie material paper stuff! ;) I think they are so funny. I'm sending them to DS to put on the new flat wall - he is going to be sharing with a girl and another guy... thus the 3 peeps!! :) Not sure they will see the humour... ;)

Bejewellers should come with a warning...

First of all I blame AmandaS on UKS - she made me buy the Bejeweller as Queen of the Drama Queens... I'm not saying its her fault... I'm just saying I am going to blame her! ;) Something happens when you get the Bejeweller out of the drawer and open the little baggies of gems. I think part of it is because I have to wait for it to warm up!! (I may have mentioned on occcasion that I have very little patience). So, its now hot and ready to start sticking all the bling, so you get the mini book that is to be sacrificed and you start.... a few little sparklies on the corner here, a little sparkly on the curve of a circle, oooh look, they stick on blossoms and don't they make the ends of your chiffon ribbon hang nicely because they have a bit of weight on them.... An hour later you straighten up and find that you have gone blinging bonkers and what started out looking quite pretty is now bordering on bad taste!!

Never mind... the mini book is for charity and is supposed to be auctioned to raise money... I'll just have to find out when the event is and place some bids!! :)

Its the 25th again!!

I am really not doing very well with the Shimelle Save the Day thing - I have taken photos on each 25th - just not managed to put together any pages yet!! :( I think that will be my challenge to me this week, do April, May and Junes pages - otherwise its going to be really difficult as my memory isn't what it used to be!!

Speaking of memories... the weirdest thing happened yesterday. I decided to start using Chris' camera, its much nicer than my old digital so I had a practice run and took some photos of the garden. When I transferred them to the PC I found some old photos on the card too... this was one of them... I was looking at Cuddles!! Cuddles who has been gone since 2001. How did Cuddles get on the camera? The camera was bought in South Africa just as Chris and I were going to Victoria Falls for my 50th birthday - 2 years ago. Its a mystery....

The Little FAT Book of Tags

Going along with the theme of the new header photo (yep, I'm still chuffed that I managed to do that) - this is a little fat book bound with the BIA that I have made with photos of the masks and background info on the tribes that carved them. Yes, I know that some people think its a pretty weird thing to have covering your lounge walls - but I love them!! :)

This is it alongside the masks and other African artwork.

I did it!!

I managed to get a photograph of my lounge wall of African masks onto my blog as a header!! Its only taken me a month of trying to get it right and lovely instructions from Helen (Enfys). I think it looks pretty kewl!! :)

Bad, bad blogger...

I have been a bad blogger, life got in the way and I haven't blogged and I haven't scrapped and because he was ignored, mojo decided to go walkabout. Now I'm not sure what other people do when missing their mojo but I tend to have a really good clean up in the scraproom, order some new stash and hope he comes back! So I thought I would take this opportunity to share a couple of things.

This is a printers tray I did last year and when he was home on leave, Chris put it up on the sun lounge wall for me. I am not completely sure it is finished, but it certainly looks better up on the wall than tucked behind one of the cane chairs! ;)

When I got up this morning, mojo had sort of returned so I got the pile of chipboard tags out that I had Gail at Craftspirations cut for me - all 50 of them!! I have an idea brewing and its quite therapeutic to sit with a glass nail file and sand all the edges of the tags with Radio 2 playing in the background....

When I went to Lidl last I saw these glass topped wooden boxes that were for putting teabags in - the sort of thing you see in hotels at breakfast - well, I couldn't resist picking one up as it looked perfect for displaying my growing collection of ATC's that I have been given or swapped. Its so much nicer than having them hidden away in a album or box and when I sit in the sun lounge with a cup of coffee I can have a look through them and admire them in all their tiny beauty.

The Book of Flowers

When I saw this black flower shaped mini book from Carolinezcraftz I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it! I love black and white combined with a splash of colour and I think it showcases the photos of the flowers that are in bloom in my garden at the moment beautifully. I used a chipboard tag book for the centres of the flower pages and a little flower tag book for some extra pics just to add some interest.
