Yes, I have had a tidy up since last week... well, it was definitely in need of it!
It's also my birthday today... because I am posting this late on Tuesday night because of the time zone difference!
Here is my Mum and myself just before we went out for dinner... upon arriving at the restaurant I found out that Chris had arranged for all our friends to be there as a surprise and I had not a clue he had been scheming anything.... which is kind of worrying really as I was sure he couldn't possibly hide a thing from me!! LOL
Chris and I took Mum off to Banff on Sunday to see the town and the Rockies in the snowy glory... Mum and I found these fab eskimo coats and had to treat ourselves!!
Here we are doing an impression of freezing... which may have worked out better if we had gone and stood in the snow in the garden!!
The scenery was spectacular....
and the mountains look fabulous in winter!
See that wee person doing a high five? Yep, it is me, I found these two patches of cleared snow on the river, which was frozen solid and somebody had set it up for curling!! 4 litre milk cartons filled with water which were frozen solid were used instead of whatever curling balls are called! ;)
Hard to imagine I was standing on a river....
Don't forget to pop along to head desk inspector, Julia, to check out the list of lovely peeps who reveal all sorts on a Wednesday!!
Happy birthday to you even though its a little late. Looks like you had a great time. Imagine trying to wear those coats in South Africa! You would propably from heat exhaustion.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday yesterday. I hope it was a lot of fun and it was so good that you got to spend it with your mom, Chris, and all your friends.
ReplyDeleteLove those coats. They look warm. The snow looks cold, though. What majestic scenery. Hope you get your project finished on time.
Happiest of Birthdays to you! I sooo enjoyed the photos in this post. You and your mom made me smile :)
ReplyDeleteI'm #9 on the list this week. Stop by when you get a chance for a visit.
I hope you had a fabulous birthday, how lovely to have a surprise organised for you! I was in Banff a few years ago but it didn't look as spectacular as in these fabulous pictures!
ReplyDeleteI just love your cosy coats!
Happy New Year!

Firstly Happy Birthday wishes to you.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of the book on your desk, think my pink BIA is a tad dusty, maybe i should get it out and play.
Great pics of you and your mum too, those coats look like the perfect to combat the snow.
Happy New Year to you

Lovely. I owe your blog a good long browse as it's been too long and justnthe few posts I've seen tell me I need to look more! Love the Zutter project - and the jacket!

Happy birthday - cosy little eskimo coats!!! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a lovely birthday.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, and the area cleared for curling is brilliant; I like the improvisation!
Liking the journal too - the binding machine looks to be a great purchase.

Belated birthday greetings!! Love your tidy desk - that book looks really nice (thinking about a binder for me!). The photos are magnificent!! One day I'll get to Canada.
ReplyDeleteI miss skiing in Banff. Love your coats, beautiful. Happy belated birthday. #95
ReplyDeleteBelated birthday wishes to you. Can see you had a great time with your Mum. Banff looks brilliant and bears little resemblance to the Scottish Banff where I lived for a number of years. That is seriously cold when the river can freeze that much that curling can be played on it. The bottles of ice for curling stones had me chuckling - such ingenuity. Elizabeth #76
ReplyDeleteLove you in those coats and such lovely pictures. TYFS.

Happy Birthday. Hugs Pam xx
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday Annette, we're all Capricorns round here as it's my turn for a birthday on Sunday too! You and your mum are like two peas in a pod, especially in your fancy new coats! Love the photos, I've only been South from Calgary, Waterton and Glacier parks, would love to come back over and go North too.

Happy Birthday!!! What a nice surprise you had!
ReplyDeleteThose pictures from Banff are gorgeous!!! This is a spectacular scenery.
A big belated Happy Birthday. So glad you enjoyed your special day. I have always wanted to take the train ride across Canada that stops and you can get off and stay in Baniff if you want and continue the journey on the next run in a day or so. The pics are just beautiful. I love snow "pictures". Superb coats and what fashion models you both were that day. #95
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday and what a gorgeous place you live in! I would so love to visit Canada: may be one day!

Happy returns Anette - bet it was lovely to have a big ol surprise, what a great gift! Your snowy pics and scenery are really beautiful, but I just can't bear the thought of how cold it is!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday for yesterday, how lovely to have a surprise party, what a lovely family you have.
ReplyDeleteI love your Eskimo coats, we could have done with them here in the UK a few weeks ago!!!
Thanks for sharing those stunning photos of Banff, a place we've always wanted to visit, hopefully one day!!
Hugs Lisa (108)
Happy belated birthday, you always have such spectacular photos. Could have something to do with where you live?
ReplyDeleteSandra #66
Happy Belated Birthday - you and your Mum are beautiful in those jackets and the mountains are spectacular - thank you so much for sharing your birthday.
ReplyDeleteI thought I sent you my message but it didn't come up so I will try again:
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday-coats on you and Mum are beautiful as well as yourselves. The scenery is just gorgeous and the coats would be fitting for this type of weather.
Keep on with those projects and new resolution.
Happy Birthday for yesterday (or whatever day it was when you read this, never can get time zones right in my head). Dig those eskimo coats they look great! Haven't used my BIA for ages but it's coming out this week! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated wishes. Love the coats, looking at the weather you will get a lot of use out of them.

What fabulous jackets - I have just sent my daughter the link. She is going out to Banff in June and she is always saying how cold it is on the school playgrounds, waiting for the children to come out. I think she will have to leave space in her luggage to bring one of thosr coats back to England.
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday! Good to know that you know have the bracelet to go with cat LOL! I love mine and hope that you do too.
ReplyDeleteLovely book on your desk and great photos really stunning - happy belated birthday ~ Nicky 124
