My desk this week just has some chipboard pieces I am working on, the plan being that I will hang from the dress form of last week, though that idea may change in the next day or two as Chris came up with a fab idea that I might have to try out!!
The now notorious d.stress is evident, it is a whizz with chipboard!
Here is a close-up of the chipboard pieces, they are a work in progress at the moment.
On my other desk is another snippet roll that is awaiting the sewing machine.
I have more snow... shovelling snow from the path and driveway has become monotonous... no sooner than I have it all clear and looking nice and some more of the stuff comes down - and today was pretty nippy, -15 degrees C but with a bit of a breeze that made it feel a lot colder!
The sides of the driveway just keep getting taller and taller...goodness knows what will happen to it all when it thaws in the spring - I think I will invest in some sand bags - just in case! It is completely white out there again now... and still snowing, in fact, I could have saved my energy as nobody would be any the wiser but the local government bylaws say that you have 24 hours from snowfall to clear your path in front of the house or they will come and do it and then bill you! Why this worries me I have no idea, as there are houses on my street that haven't cleared the snow since November and nobody has been and cleared it for them.... but SOD's law says if I leave mine.... LOL
Oooh lovely looking chipboard pieces. It does look very cold on your side of the world. I find the snow laws quite fascinating in regards to having to shovel the driveway. But then snow is kind of fascinating for an Aussie lol

I agree Annette, they'll bill you, and deport you. It's always the way!!! I need to know where the life is good papers are from and I NEED to know Chris' idea - you didn't tell on purpose. You should see my bottom lip - stuck out admirably!!
ReplyDeletevery vintage stuff there, love it!
ReplyDeleteat least if you clear your drive you know that you will be able to get in and out, although why you would want to go out in that temperature..........

Very interesting chipboard pieces!
ReplyDeleteIt really does look cold where you are. Thankfully, or should I say hopefully, here in Ireland we are past the snow and ice now and spring is in the air.
Happy Wednesday

Lol! That's so funny - I expect they haven't cleared their drives because they're all peering out the window and laughing at you, taking the byelaws so seriously!
ReplyDeleteHowever, on a more serious note, I think it is very commendable that you have made the effort, and I lurrrrve that chipboard dress form, it looks amazing!
(I haven't WOYWW'd this week, shame on me...)
Really like the dressform and hope you stay warm! Happy WOYWW!
ReplyDeleteLove the chipboard pieces you are working with. Looks very cold where you are. Here in Tennessee we are experiencing Spring for a few days. Sunny warm days....makes you want to be gardening!

ooooh I love the look of your chipboard!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure who linked me to Julia this week, but here I am. The fans in my basement are to help dry the paint, not cool the air. It's pretty cold down there as is. The back door has been open everyday for awhile as the builders and painters bring in their equipment.
ReplyDeleteI see you are making more of the snippet rolls. I'm totally in love with this idea. Right now, my hand hurts so much, I may get the cover made today, and I may not. It really depends on how well I use the sewing machine using ONE hand. I know typing is harder than Hades.
That looks like scrummy work.
ReplyDeleteThose chipboard pieces look really interesting. I would love to see what you do with them. I am so grateful I live in Africa, no snow, EVER, that seems great.
ReplyDeleteLove the vintage look of those chipboard pieces - the dress form and the bird cage. I like your blog so much I have decided to follow you. Happy woyww
ReplyDeleteGorgeous chip board pieces, beautifully decorated, love the bodice. Can't believe how much snow you have. Tracy Evans x
ReplyDeleteLove the chipboard pieces, and danggggg that is cold out there. I feel right warm and toasty by comparison, but I too am tiring of snow. TFS! #67
ReplyDeleteI typed a comment before, but there was a google error, therefore I'll say it again lol. Love the chipboard pieces and the weather you are having makes mine seem warm and toasty, but after over 173" since December, I am tiring of snow. #67
ReplyDeleteThose chipboard pieces look like fun, however you end up using them. Can't wait to see the finished dress form!
ReplyDeleteooooooooooh wow Loving all the lovely things your workspace is filled with! Hugs Juls
ReplyDeleteLove your chip board work.
ReplyDeleteWow it looks so cold but I think I too would think 'sods law' and clear the front ...grumbling loudly as I went .xx
I guess its hard keeping up with all that snow clearing when it’s falling constantly like that, but I’m with you on being the one that’s caught out if you don’t do it. Glad we don’t get that much snow here in the UK.
ReplyDeleteYour chipboard project looks very interesting. Can’t wait to see how it all turns out!
Happy Crafting.

That is white...but inside looks so warm and snuggly. Get your inside crafting done now, because when the sun shines I have a feeling you'll be making up for lost time. Coming in @#31 this week.
ReplyDeleteLove the chipbaord pieces and my view is remarkably similar to yours too. We have 24 hours to clear our paths (you can do what you want with your drive), or you risk a ticket from the local cop shop, although I've never seen it happen in 11 yrs of living in this house and my neighbour rarely bothers with his paths. But like you say, the first time you ignore it....
ReplyDeleteStay warm

Wonderful chipboard pieces. Yes the snow laws are sometimes crazy. One place I lived said you had to shovel your entrance sidewalk and sidewalk within the 24 hrs. But, then we found out if it was not COMPLETELY clearn of ice and snow and the mailperson, whomever slipped and fell they could sue you. So since noone ever got ticketed, we all decided it was better not to shovel and let people beat their own pathways.
ReplyDeleteLove your chipboard pieces. 117
ReplyDeleteChipboard pieces = very pretty; snippet roll = ditto; snow = please keep it; thawing = leave the worry for then! Seriously, I have severe mobility issues so cannot walk over snow at all. Nor can I be pushed or use my electric mob scooter. So snow = sad Shirl stuck indoors. Hope you are keeping toasty warm ...Shirl #106
ReplyDeleteGorgeous chipboard pieces! Oh my all that snow! We were covered for about two weeks now it has been in the 60 deg mark for a week and it is gone. I hope for good!
ReplyDeleteVickie #148
