WOYWW 29th June 2011

Yay... summer is here!!  A lovely 27.7 degrees C this morning and looking like it may last for a few days too!
Here we are with another week flying by and Wednesday arriving at the speed of Ryan Reynolds in the Green Lantern.... is it only me that doesn't really see him as gorgeous???
I have had a terrible week... I have cleaned out drawers, done housework, scrubbed floors... and still my mojo is AWOL!!  So I got the sewing machine out and decided that if paper wouldn't play nicely then perhaps material would!!
and decided to have a go at making a material mini book...
so now all I need to do is figure out what to put in it and how to bind it...
Don't forget to pop along to our lovely Chief Desk Inspector, Julia, for the complete and exceedingly long list of craftyness to nose about in!

  1. You and I are having similar mojo problems. Only I haven't even been able to work with fabric, much less paper. I keep thinking I'm going to put some things together that I've started, but that isn't happening.
And now my things are back from storage and my mojo is REALLY gone. So, I think you are doing wonderfully well with fabric, but don't ask how to bind them, because I can't offer any suggestions.

I hope you have a good week! Happy WOYWW.

  3. Your fabric mini book looks so delicate and pretty! Hope your mojo returns soon so you can finish it.

  4. Great job! If Mr. Mojo doesn't cooperate give him a little competition! Good for the soul. And no I didn't think Ryan Reynolds was particularly hot babe but then I don't think Rob Pattinson is either! Nothing wrong with me just a more seasoned palate! Vickie #39

  9. I cannot believe, simply cannot, that you are out of mojo. You do such beautiful things with paper. I pray it comes back soon for all of our sakes as I look forward to reading your blog.
Love what you have done with the fabric but beyond eyelets I can't think at the moment. Hugs, Neet #12

  13. I'm so sorry your mojo is in hiding! I have the short term memory of a gnat so sorry if I wrote about this in previous weeks. I'm terribly remedial when it comes to fabric techniques. I usually sew a snap on it lol. Velcro can be nice but it picks up cat hair too well for me.

My mojo likes to feel important and really gets irritated if ignored... me: "fine, it's good you're ignoring me since I have to finish this terribly important report and can't possible work with you to day". mojo: "but how about doing this?" and starts throwing out ideas.

Or if I work on a kit or make something from a tutorial that someone else has made, mojo will start throwing out ideas on how to make it differently. BTW, I posted a Basic Mini Book Tutorial on my blog and no one has tested it for me so if you have a couple of spare 12 x 12 sheets perhaps you could give it a try? Lemme know how it is? You'd be doing me a huge favour :D. #13

  16. Mojo? Mojo? where are you....? :) I have always fancied making a fabric mini but keep putting it off. The closest I got was the one with the crocheted edges. And OH! clear paint chip stips?? I have never seen them. But I know is the US you get bigger nes, as well as ones with no writing on the front, so I guess you are just lucky where you are.

  21. Can't comment about Ryan 'Wotsit' as haven't really paid much attention to the film trailers.

Glad you have had some warm weather - we've had a few roasters here followed by thunder storms. At least it is sunnier and more cheerful (most of the time) which is always a bonus.

  23. I think there is a lot of stray mojo hiding somewhere ... there are so many complaining about theirs having gone awol....more than normal ...maybe there is a mojo thief lol.
You must have some left to create that material book ...its gorgeous.

  25. Thank you for your lovely comments :) It is indeed an ironing stand and mine came from Argos. Actually, it was a Christmas present from my husband, who cunningly changed the label to say Display Stand. He knew (correctly) that I'd get the hump if I'd been given anything to do with ironing. It has been really useful at craft fairs as it doesn't take up much space! LL Jan xx

  31. The fabric book is starting to look brilll, bet it will be stunning when finished. Hope your mojo returns soon, i have noticed, including myself, that mojos around the world keep disappearing, maybe there is a mojo conference going on somewhere, and all the mojos are enjoying time by the pool having cocktails while us crafters are in a no mojo crisis!!!
