What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday - 20th July 2011

Here we are with another Wednesday creeping up on us!!  Don't forget to go and check out the linky list at Madame Julia's for loads of inspiration.
On my desk is some chipboard which is about to turn into book covers... and at the back left you can see my latest storage spinny thing which Chris got me.
To the right of my desk is a set of drawers and some more storage... I had a move about during the week but  I am not sure it is going to stay like that as I miss the flat surface for putting stuff down whilst I am working.
and this is a sneak preview of a book I have been working on... this is my page about the show we went to last week - Wicked.  It was... well, wicked, really!! LOL  The only downside to the evening was that this man who had to be at least 7'6" tall came and sat down in front of me... and he had big ears... so I spent the first half giving myself a crick in the neck trying to see around him!!  It just goes to show that you can pay $118.00 for a seat and not be guaranteed a view of the stage!!  Chris was a true gentleman and swapped seats with me for the second half so I had a clear view and he had a crick in his neck!! :)

  1. Glad to see you here. I missed you last week. I agree that keeping a flat surface uncluttered is probably better than building storage to the ceiling. But it says something for your surfaces. I sure like the looks of that surface with all the drawers in it. Guess I never noticed all those drawers before.

What a gentleman Chris is. He was a real hero in my books. No one would have traded places with me, no matter how much I had to twist and turn (grin).

Guess it's time to head for Julia's. See you there.

  7. I would put that storage down as well as you never have enough flat surface on the desk. :) Love the page you're warking on.

  11. While I like your little stack of red/blue drawers, my eyes were drawn to the stash of glittery gorgeousness that is hanging to the right of it. Is that stash you use to embellish your work or, like me, do you just like looking at sparkles :D xx

  12. Look forward to seeing your book when completed. How very noble of your Chris to swap seats with you but how awful to have a giant of a man in front of you - and with big ears too - how dare he?
Thanks for sharing - Hugs, Neet x #3

  13. Ah, that's romance - a shared crick! Did you find yourself in that state where you suddenly feel it would be OK to just lean forward and bend an ear flat?!! Catch yourself just in time, huh!!
I can instantly see what you mean about losing the surface with the drawers in the new position - it's waht I was going to say about the new spinny thing - all that storage anad still a surface. Gotta love that man!

  14. Love the look of your new spinny thing ..all filled and ready for action. What a shame about the tall man...I dont often go to the theatre but I have learnt over the years that the seats closest to the front ...and usually not tiered ones ...are not always the best. xx

  16. Had to laugh at the thought of the giant sitting in front of, this always without fail happens to me, mind you I'm not quite 5ft so everyone is a giant.

  18. Oh dear. I always get some idiot with no spatial awareness coming and standing in front of me when we go to pub gigs, so close that I can barely lift my drink to my lips. I usually tolerate it until the end of a song, and then do my bestest piercing whistle right in his ear (it's always a bloke). Makes them move, lol.

And what's all this about flat surfaces? Can't you just balance your bits of WIPS on top of other stuff like I do?? ;)

  21. Your desk and work space look really busy this week. I hate it when you put out tons of money on something then have issues. I had an experience at the movies where the person behind me me kept putting her feet on the back of my chair while she chatted on the phone. These were reserved balcony seats so I went and told the usher he needed to throw her out and I'll be darn he did! Looking forward to seeing the finished project. Vickie

  25. I know what you mean about having a flat "dumping" surface. My Mum gave me a foldie wooden table the other week and it hasn't been folded back up since I got it out!!
I have a bookie in the making too! You will be so proud of me using my lovely BIA!! I love it!!

  26. Oh I do love the table from the last post! Fab. and I once had a year when my DH missed every single significant day in our calendar except Christmas. We had our 25th a few months back and still haven't managed to get out for a night without the kids :)

The book is going to be brill. Back in storage I have a huge stack of play programs from when we lived in the Barbican (including Trainspotting when it was just in a room in the back of the Bush pub and the incomprehensible guy from the movie played the lead!)and now I wish I had them here to turn into a minibook!! Can;t wit to see it done.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comment, it is truly appreciated - sort of confirms that it is more than my Mum and husband that read this thing! :)
