What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday 18th January 2012

This is what I have at the moment... and it is Tuesday evening here so I have -49 degrees C with the wind chill to look forward to while everyone is waking up in the UK!!  Aaaah!!  I was taking the garbage out this evening and by the time I had wheeled the two bins to the edge of the road I couldn't feel my fingers anymore...  so I think hibernation with the two cats for company is the answer!!
A friend sent me this... it made me laugh at least!!
So this is what my desk looks like... another book for the swap I am in so you'll have to wait to see the finished articles once they arrive back in the UK... that is if I ever manage to get out of the house to mail them!!
Don't forget to check out the linky list at Madame Julia's abode!!

  1. I laughed and laughed at the picture and poem. Of course, I remember your ordeal last year, too. At least it's not a foot of snow tonight (just a mere centimeter). Maybe staying in the warmth of the basement is the way to go, or maybe snuggled in bed with your two "hot water heaters" is the best answer. Either way, please stay warm and dry.

  21. Hi Annette, that is truly cold ... I didn't know you could survive in temperatures as low as that ... and clearly cats fair rather badly but the postcard did make me chuckle, I'm now guilt-tripping as I imagine The Boss suffering so. Hibernation seems the only reasonable way to go - stay in, stay warm. Elizabeth x #99

  26. Oh gosh my head is turning circles imagining what would happen if temperatures got that cold in the UK. Our boilers start giving out and trains stop running at just below freezing and a little snow! Hope you and your family keep warm.

  33. That poem is hilarious and the cat is just priceless. My brother lives near Calgary so I can now believe him when he says how cold it is.
The crazy thing is, I complain it's freezing if the temp goes below 20deg C above zero! Could not imagine how cold -49 is.

Have a great week and try to keep warm.

  37. God that's cold! How do the cars even start in that temperature? Does Chris have to plug in a sump heater at night? Stay indoors, drink warm drinks, wrap the cats around you (tie their paws together if it helps!) and get busy in the basement! I'm cold just thinking about it. Very funny cat post too
