Oh and you know how our hospitals at home have a little room for a chapel hidden away somewhere down some long corridor? Well, none of that at this place, this the mosque for the hospital...
So Chris and I pop in the front door and head for the reception desks.... no, this is not a 5 star hotel... this is the reception area... where they take your details (and check your medical insurance ;) ) before sending you off to your appointment.
and yes, that is a chandelier hanging over the reception desks... and there was more than one of them!!
So having a half and hour to spare for the appointment we thought we would have a cup of coffee in the cafeteria...

Yep, there's those chandeliers again (they must have got a job lot from somewhere)!!
and this was the ceiling of the cafeteria... it seems almost insulting to call it a cafeteria... I have eaten in some nice restaurants over the years and most of them wouldn't compare well with this cafe!!
Wow! That's the most luxurious hospital I have ever seen! Hope you are ok.
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! There is a private hospital near London Bridge that I thought was posh but it pales along side this....
ReplyDeleteHope everything was okay.
Toni :o)
How gorgeous is that place. The ceiling is breathtaking. Who would ever have guessed that is a hospital...amazing.
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm in awe of that place..........
ReplyDeleteOMG! I had no idea their hospitals had such splender!
ReplyDeleteThank you for getting back to me so quickly about the cd ring!
WOW! Imagine one of those here in South Africa! I think people would die of shock before they even got to the doctor LOL
ReplyDeleteWow, now thats a fancy hospital!!!
ReplyDeleteHope your ok :)
J xx
I never thought I'd say this, but what a beautiful hospital - as you say it's more like a 5* hotel. If we had those in England though it would encourage hypochondria lol.
ReplyDeleteHope you're ok though Annette
Having had a visit to one of our not so nice NHS hospitals this morning I must say how nice it all looks. They definitely know how to make the surroundings nice. I hope the treatment is just as good and you are OK.
ReplyDeleteThat stained glass is stunning - I love stained glass.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing building - I love how some of your photos look like they were taken by stealth ;) Were you being a bit naughty taking them? Ooh I do hope so.
Hope you are ok and it was nothing to serious - though you were in a fabulous place to be ill!
I can understand their beliefs and everything but when you are just taking pictures of architecture it seems daft doesn't it?... a relative of mine nearly got arrested in Cyprus I think it was, many, many years ago for taking photos of bullet holes in a wall. They thought she was a spy and eventually let her off with just confiscating her camera. How scary to have to think about compounds being blown up! Glad my sleuthing skills were on target though :P I love it! For some reason that put a big grin on my face imagining it :D
ReplyDeleteI do hope you are ok Annette x
ReplyDelete.....but if you have to visit a hospital I guess it doesn't get much better than this !
ok, so you say you went to the hospital...are you ok, or were you just looking for an excuse to eat in a fancy cafeteria?
ReplyDeleteWow ...what a building ... words fail me that its a hospital.
ReplyDeleteAnette hope u are alright !! not trying to be funny but the hospitals look really posh like a hotel !
