The Vixen is back in her lair!! Some people may recognise the wall in my lounge as the photo at the top of my blog... and perhaps not have realised that it is one of my home.... but it is and I am back in it!! I know, it's not everyones' idea of home decor but I love it... visitors either step back in horror and remember a previous appointment or they are fascinated there is no happy medium!!
TomTom and Pandy survived their journey and have explored the house... every inch of it! They both love the sun lounge which is connected to the scraproom, it has windows on all sides so they can look out on the garden and its sunny so they sleep the day away in the warm rays of the sun.
But... it is WOYWW and you are here to see my desk....
it's behind that lot.... LOL!! Yes, I think I made one or two trips to Michaels that I didn't need to!! The really annoying part is that I have boxes in all the rooms and really have to unpack and put everything away in those before I start on the scraproom...
Some folk may recall the library table and chairs I bought when I was in Canada... happily I can report that it survived the journey and is now at the end of my kitchen and looking good!!
and the daybed from the States and trunk is now in my spare bedroom!!
So I am getting sorted... slowly... it took two days to go through the accumulated mail of two years!
I may be sporadic and slow in visiting but I will take a break from cardboard boxes and come and visit!!
I assure you, as much as I love masks, I would be the one running TOWARD that wall of goodies. It would take me hours to see each one. What a fun time I would have. Of course, I think those trips to Michael's may have proven a bit much. I suspect much of this will stay in Scotland before you travel on to your next "deployment." And of course, the new home will have different places to shop. What fun you will have.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see where you move. But I suspect two months won't be long enough to sort through all those boxes of scrapbook supplies. So until then, happy WOYWW from #2.
I love the library table and chairs! Are they sort of Art Deco?

wow, you lead an interesting life with all the places you have been. South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Canada...amazing! And here I am little ole me in NC, lol BTW I am in love with the library table and chairs, I love furniture like that! waving the #50 from the hills of North Carolina :)
ReplyDeleteHadn't realised you were to move again. I thought this was it and so feel it is a shame as TomTom and Pandy look so settled and I am sure they feel it when they get the heat through the glass. What a fab room with so much daylight coming in.
ReplyDeleteMasks, well I like them and I think I would enjoy looking and asking questions about your wall - at first I thought I could see some skulls (animal). so I imagined I would be a runner but no, I would stay.
Hope you get unpacked and that the Michaels mammoth spend was worth it.
Hugs, Neet 17 xx

LOL! I have been in this house toooooo long. Used to be we moved every 3 years or so and that was the ONLY way to keep things under control. I need to move, and soon, before I run out of room!
ReplyDeleteLove the masks.

WOW! Didn't know you were moving back to Blighty! How long will it be for this time? Will you be back long enough to come to the big WOYWW crop next month? Please say you are!
ReplyDeleteI'm not taking part this week in WOYWW, so don't sit scratching your head if you head to my blog and don't find today's post - it doesn't exist LOL
Wow, so many boxes. I need to read back in time to find out where you have moved to and why, how exciting. Hope you get unpacked soon and are happy in your home.

ReplyDeleteWelcome home Annette - glad the fur babies have settled in well.
ReplyDeleteThe table set looks fab and I just love the day bed and trunk.
Ummm, rather a lot of boxes there - still, have fun with the unpacking.

I love the wall of masks. I had no idea that it was in your home, but I can't say I really thought about it one way or the other. I really like the small shelf around the room's perimeter to add little knick knacks and other artifacts on.
ReplyDeleteI totally covet your table and chairs! That rocks! I love unusual decor. I don't have any myself but I can live vicariously through others.
I don't think you get more used to the packing and unpacking, just better at it, it still takes an age and yes, you have to do it before you can feel 'in', huh. Still, at least this time it seems you may have time to do that before you pack for pastures newer! Trying to sugar coat the pill for ya...
ReplyDeleteI love the wall, it says something interesting about you. That library table is fantastic, I love your style. Thanks for showing us around, your home is lovely and so are your cats. Have a great week. Frances #136
ReplyDeleteWelcome home & welcome back to WOYWW we missed you.. Boy are you going to be a busy girl getting everything sorted!! would love to see your craft room when you can find it behind all your boxes Yikes!!!!
ReplyDeleteTom Tom & Pandy look at home and enjoying their new environment... they both are Gorgeous... Have a happy week, Hugs May x x x#62
You wouldn't be able to keep me away from that wall, I would be looking and be totally fascinated by the masks. Awesome. I do hope you get yourself sorted in the rest of the house because the bonus at the end of it is putting everything where you want it in your craft room and you can take your time with it too. You wont have to rush and and do another box somewhere else.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW

Welcome home, you do seem to get around. I think I'd be heading to explore the masks, I am always intrigued by your blog header and want to reach out to touch them.
ReplyDeleteLopoks like you will have a lot of fun unpacking those boxes.
Carolyn #118
It must feel great to be home, even though I guess you move around so much so do you call your home "home"? We have a wall of masks too but nothing as grand as that (they are from various countries from our Round The World Trip) but we had to take them down recently because we were dogsitting and he REALLY didn't like them. Next time he came, he totally ignored them - crazy huh?!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention, you should check out Chapter 17 (click from my right side bar and go directly there) of the AB. One person wanted drawers in her AB as the student choice. Guess where I sent her??????
ReplyDeleteI also forgot to mention, that photo of boxes stacked to the ceiling was painful to see. Shades of my basement last spring!
ReplyDeleteNot long to your big move and then you can spread out your stash.
ReplyDeleteHope it all goes well and as stress free as possible
Helloooooo! It has been Ages (too long) since I last popped by to see you and welcome back to the UK! Looking forward to seeing you and your projects up and about pretty soon!

WELCOME HOME ANETTE ! bet it feels real strange. I hate the post after a fortnights holiday so two years worth would just about have done me in ! How quickly has that time gone - and we've all followed you on your photographic / scrapping journey - and now you;re back..............'lovely to have you back BTW' (big smiley face).
ReplyDeleteLets see some crafing now lady.
Welcome back to Scotland. I'm sure you will miss Michaels but things are much better nowadays what with the internet and all lol. Glad to see all your stuff is fitting in nicely at home, and your cats seem to be quite laid back about it all. Have fun unpacking, much more fun than packing I always think! I've just been on a month long trip to USA so 4 weeks of mail is as much as I had to get through, can't imagine what two years worth is like. Hope you all soon feel 'at home'.
ReplyDeleteLookin good :) Love having a peek into the spaces of fellow crafter's! If you happen to peek in on my blog, be sure to wear a hard hat! LOL!
