New Year and Birthday Cruise

The Pacific Dawn left Brisbane on 30th December and we visited the Isle of Pines, Mystery Island, Suva on Fiji, Port Denarau and Port Vila on Veneratau returning to Brisbane on the 11th January 2014.

Mystery Island was one of my favourite places, it is not inhabited, all the island people live on a nearby island and come across to this one for daytime use as it is taboo to sleep on it. We spent our time on the beach and in the water and I collected pumace stones and coral that washed in on the tide.
Beautiful islands with blue water and white sandy beaches...
White sandy beaches...

We were at sea for my birthday so we had a lazy morning (doing laundry... but that's another story) and we had a lovely meal in the restaurant where the waiter lined us all up for the photo op...
I had balloons for my birthday dinner table decorations!
I can't take these two anywhere with me....
Mum and I would get up early and have breakfast and then sit in the spa tubs on deck until we became old wrinkled prunes and had to get out... ;)

  3. It looks like you had a fantastic time. Glad you had your loving family with you to celebrate your birthday. What a difference a year makes, too. No snow, just sunshine, sand, balloons, and hot tubs.

Welcome home, dear friend. So glad you made it "home" safely and had a great time. Hope Christopher made it back to Scotland with little jet lag.

  5. Great to see you had a great birthday Annette. No doubt there will be a mini album of the cruise soon! Shaped like a boat maybe with a carving on the front?

  9. I almost asked Annie on Friday if she had heard from you, when you magically appeared on my blog tonight. I MISS YOU so much. It's no fun not being able to talk to one of my best friends. Please come back soon.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comment, it is truly appreciated - sort of confirms that it is more than my Mum and husband that read this thing! :)
