Notepads and Envelopes

Every month five of us ladies do lunch and sit and put the world to rights for a few hours, it is a lovely catch up and meal out with friends.  So I was sitting at my desk and thought it might be fun to make them each a notepad to keep for messages or odd bits that they need to write down.
Made each one to suit the person....
so I hoep they like them!
You never know when a writing pad....
will come in handy!
and I managed to use some of my old paper stash to make them an envelope each to keep favourite piece of snail mail....

T on Tuesday

Actually having some craftiness to share helps when you do T on Tuesday!  I joined a swap with Elizabeth and some other lovely ladies to swap tip-ins each month for 6 months.  I completed and sent off mine for this month and the lovely Chris has received them so I can share them today.  I got them out a bit early because tomorrow I go to hospital to try and sort my right wrist out and I am not sure how much use I will get out of it for a couple of weeks. Chris' theme was anything to do with the garden but no frogs....
Feathered friends with the bird cage die from Tim Holtz and a tattered floral die cut paper flower with three paper feathers which were fun to make.
Close up of the feathers which are double sided and have wire through them.
Lots of flowers and gems for Mary Mary quite contrary!
That little girl going 'oops' makes me smile...
Dandelion wishes and dragonfly kisses.  A woodn dragonfly from pink paislee and I made the dandelion flower out of plastic coloured beads.
Close up of the beads and dragonfly
March winds, April showers, brings forth May flowers.  Tim Holtz brolly man with lots of flowers.
raining little flowers on brolly man...

Winged things of the garden.... I copied the paper with butterflies on and then sat and fussy cut them all out with cuticle scissors... inked them and added them over the original printed versions to make them more dimensional.
Glossy accents to make the bodies stand out.
I bed your pardon, I didn't promise you a rose garden.... (are you singing?) My favourite bird cage die cut and the tattered florals all cut from printed papers.  Lots of washi tape and ephemera and some lace to finish it off.
Close up of the paper flowers with glossy accent dew drops on them.
So I am sitting here drinking my green smoothie for breakfast and planning to come by and visit!

T on Tuesday

The sun is shining and there is no gale blowing... what a lovely morning to join in with T on Tuesday with Elizabeth and Bleubeard nd spend some time in my scrap room and visit with the T folk!  I have a frothy coffee beside me and have been having a play with a sheet of A4 copy paper trying to fold it into an envelope with a leaf origami folded thingy on the front... from the one sheet of paper!

Why you ask?  Because I want to see if I can!  The destructions were in Chinese and the auto translation left a lot to be desired but the photos were easy enough to follow... well, if I am successful then yes, easy enough to follow!
It worked... not bad for a first try! LOL Apologies for the photos but my camera battery just died so had to use my phone and it hates the light in my scrap room.
and then I did this one with gift wrap paper - think it is  easier to use thinner papers to start with.  I think they are rather sweet and you could write your letter or do a drawing or a poem on the inside and then fold it up... not much good for posting but nice if you can hand it to someone?
Will be popping in to see what other peeps are doing today!

WOYWW - 347!

I thought I would join in with Julia's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday this morning... this is my scrap desk and I have Chris' mini book of his 40 years of working with Fluor and all the countries he worked in during that time... I am as far as Canada so the end is in sight!
I started this book about 12 years ago so have been adding in all the overseas assignments from that point on... South Africa, Saudi, Canada, Australia, Netherlands...
oh and I thought I would show you my other desk... this is my computer desk so where I waste the most of my time!
and I am giving you the complete tour... this is the desk just inside my sun lounge next to the scrap room... and it has my sewing machine on it but it is a handy place to overflow onto if I have someone to come and visit and play.
Pandy and Tom-Tom say hi!

Looking forward to visiting lots of desks to see what everyone is up to!

T on Tuesday

I am joining Elizabeth for T on Tuesday and as you can see this particular Tuesday has been designated as sort the ribbon stash out.... again.....
the ribbon on reels aren't too bad but these always end up at the bottom of the large box and I forget to search down that far when I am looking for a particular sort or colour.
and this canvas storage box is full of larger ribbons and lace and ric-rac
and I am hoping that it will be 'a piece of cake' as it says on my frothy coffee mug.... but I think it may take a while....
oh and we finally got some of the masks back on the lounge wall!  I have kept the numbers down this time and made it into a feature piece rather than try and display every mask I own.  Yes, the picture at the top of my blog was my lounge wall previously....
and this it with both the uplighters and downlighters on... think it looks quite nice! ;)
Looking forward to visiting all the T ladies between ribbon sorting!

T on Tuesday

I am joining Elizabeth for T on Tuesday with a photo from last week... it was my 60th Birthday on the 4th January!  This is me in yellow with my much younger bff Louise... our two boys have been friends since primary school. Chris arranged a lovely meal for me with friends and Christopher and we had a lovely evening.
Louise, Sarah and Chris...
and my son, Christopher, who drove for an hour in horrendous rain to join us for dinner.

I have to admit that I failed at the outset of this year... said I would blog regularly and this my first post! LOL   I have been busy honest... putting away Christmas and then my birthday and then starting the diet...
yes... back on the green smoothies for breakfast...
and I have done some scrapbooking!
This was a page I did for a class I taught to a group of ladies on the 6th January.
It was a lovely class, the 15 ladies were total non-crafty types and they had such fun putting their pages together.
This is the slide out tag for the details of the photo.
and a scrap page of when Chris and I visited Lake Louise in Banf in Alberta when we were living in Calgary.
I know... and it really feels great to be getting back into crafting mode again after such a long time of feeling mojo less and drifting in the sludge of too much stuff, too many jobs around the house and trying to find a new routine.
