I'm having plain old tea down in the basement surrounded by stuff that isn't going too well...
Honestly, I followed Amy's destructions to the letter - ok, not quite, as I missed out the swearing bits because my mouth won't do that, but I did all the rest and all I have is a bunch of washed out images on packing tape... that can't be right, can it? Do you think it was the lack of swearing? No? Lack of something though... artistic abilities springs to mind!! LOL
On a brighter note the printing onto tissue paper worked!! I just need to do something with them now.. but I need all the cheering on I can get today... a pile of chipboard 4" x 4" squares sitting looking at me that somehow need to end up looking like fabulous fat book pages is adding to the stress!!
Join the other ladies, who hopefully are having a better Tea Day than I am by going to Kimmie's and following the linky things!!
Transferring is something I haven't done much of, so I haven't a clue. The tissue pape looks great. Have some tea and all will be well. :) Happy tea day.
ReplyDeleteI find a cup of tea always helps! Hope things start to come together soon.
ReplyDeleteI really like the tissue paper printing. I think you have that down pat. I'll send you an idea as to how fix your transfer problems. It may or may not help, because some magazine images are just no good for tape transfers. One thing you can do is try a different magazine. That might help.
ReplyDeleteAt least you are drinking tea and making the best of things.
E is right, you need a thick glossy mag like Oprah to do a great packing tape transfer... and your tissue transfers turned out great, what kind of printer and tissue did you use? and happy tea day!!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I get bored drinking tea on my own, would you like to come over to my house tomorrow for a cuppa...http://carlee-dancer.blogspot.com/ I will have something special for you.
ReplyDeleteI've yet to try the packing tape transfers. Carmelina at Creative Carmelina shared the same idea last year ... very cool if the end results work out. I didn't quite get how it worked and never did give it a go. I've mod podged tissue paper and napkins onto spraypainted coffee cans. It really adheres to the can, much better than regular paper images. Good luck getting things done. Best wishes, Tammy
ReplyDeleteLove the tissue paper thing! I would like to try that! Have a happy TEA day!

Hope the tea managed to ease the stress. I'm sure everything will work out.
ReplyDeleteSending (((hugs)))

Ha! I should have known it was you that did the bind-it-all book (because it's so nice) :) but did I notice your other blog thingy? NO.
ReplyDeleteI've done the tissue thing and put it on a candle, but you could put it on anything :)
The tape thing is fun, it does have to be the right 'paper'. When I did one of my book pages, I used the cover from Cloth Paper Scissors.
Tea does help on these days :) so does chocolate!
It's because you didn't swear.
ReplyDeleteIt's really the only way those work.
Love what you have going on here, the tissue paper is great! Hope your tea cheered you up, your visit cheered me up!
ReplyDeleteyour printing on tissue certainly DID turn out brilliantly!
ReplyDeleteI think the thing I like about gel transfers is their less than perfectness...and often dreamy quality...yup that's my story and I'm stickin to it ;)
hope you ended up having a lovely day of play

I was barred from using the printer for a while after I tried printing tissue paper! I mangled the job and it took a lot of patient effort to pick all of the pieces out! I agree about the heavy magazine paper for a packing tape transfer. Also really really burnishing the heck out of it with a bone folder .... Anyhow .... Another so called messy workspace ..... You guys are having so much fun today! Makes me want to ship everyone off to Timbuktu so I can play! (half days this week and no school next week .... What's a girl to do?!
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday, Kimmie
Thanks for dropping by for tea, Pat...and glad the tissue printing went well....Happy artful week ahead to you.... steph :))
ReplyDeleteI can give no input on the struggle you've had...but I can say with certainty...everything is better with tea.
