What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday 2nd March 2011

Just keep telling me spring is coming... it snowed hard straight after I finished shovelling the driveway and path so I had to go and do it again and it was cold - I mean really really cold!!  The temperature barometer thingy was telling me -29 degrees C but the weatherman on the TV explained that with the wind chill factored in it was more -42... and let me tell you, -42 is COLD!!  I couldn't feel my face or fingers by the time I had finished and now I want spring to arrive... please?  But... you probably aren't here for a weather chat and as it is Wednesday I guess I should show you what is on my work desk....
To the observant amongst you it may look familiar... but the last time you saw it, it was in one piece!!
Yep, I had a catastraphe in the scrap room... namely a little furry person known as Tom-Tom!!  He knocked it off the ledge and it crashed to the floor and lots of the bits that had been painstakingly glued into place either jumped out or broke off.... :(  OK... it was not entirely Tom-Tom's fault as at the time he was being chased by Pandora so she must take some of the blame!!
So I have decided to spend the day fixing it... and maybe making it a bit more stable... by adding a wider chipboard box section to the bottom - yep, my little house is going to get a basement!! LOL
The two culprits... investigating their toy bin....
Don't forget to pop over to Julia's for the list of fellow desks to peak at...

  1. Oh those naughty cats - keep mom busy, huh? The nice thing is that it still looks gorgeous in its "broken" state.

  2. LOVE this, especially the colours, the tags hanging from it and the birdcage :) Cats will be cats!
BYW, I bought my Kaisercraft calendar from a lady here that has a shop in her basement. Not sure where she gets her supplies. Maybe one of the stores in Calgary could order?

  11. Another fabulous altered creation...forgive your cats, they have no idea how important human things are! In fact, they are positively aloof to all that goes on around them but I still miss having one in my life.

  13. Oh what a fab picture of your "two culprits" but is that a third hanging from the bin LOL? How can you be angry with them - no wonder cats get away with murder.

  23. Spring is her and moving your way. I promise! Well, sounds like the cats are having a fun time. I had a friends cat do something like that in my studio once. She does not bring him around anymore. That's a good thing. Have a warm day!

  25. My husband is headed to Calgary today from Ontario so he will be going from cold to even colder! Gotta love those pets. Somehow we love to forgive because what they give us far exceeds anything else.

  26. I don't know what it looked like before, but I can tell when you have fixed it that it will be amazing. I love the colours.

  27. Oh bad cats! Still, a lovely opportunity to gaze at your work and give it a bit of a tweak! Minus 49 - girl you need not be out in that for too long - your extremities will drop off. Honestly, if gets any colder, you may have to consider leaving him!!!

  28. Oh my, now why would you leave anything where the cats play? All your fault I think. I think it was just a grand plan, you wanted to revamp it, so you needed an excuse, very clever putting it there.

  30. Hope you can make a good repair job. Thanks for suggestions on the penroll post. I guess we could easily make one to measure if you have specific requirements. Annie has made all her pen rolls different with different sized pockets. Have a good week. x Jo

  39. Oops guess they were in the cats house so to speak!!!! I missed the first picture of this so it's great that the cats knocked it over for those who didn't see it first (that sounds really bad doesn't it!!!). Hopefully nothing was badly broken, but it's a gorgeous piece of art.
