T on Tuesday

Joining Elizabeth for T on Tuesday with..... TEA! ;)  I have't done any playing with paper for nearly a week, my desk is deserted and empty.  I haven't felt very well (diverticulitis is the pits) but today I actually feel as though the antibiotics have kicked in and I will survive this second bout in as many weeks.
So I have found some scraps of material and I am going to attempt to make a bow... it should prove interesting as I haven't got a clue what to do but think I have a mental image of what I want it to look like.
I have chosen reds and blues because I want to be able to attach it to these...
Yes, one red and one blue bag... they are not my normal style of bag but they were FREE!  You see, I went clothes shopping for summer clothes and if you spent a $100 you got a free bag.... well, it was pretty easy to do that and when the lady was cashing up I asked if I could split them into two purchases... thus getting two bags and she said yes! ;) LOL
Anyways, that is me sorted for the day, visiting T folk and playing with the sewing machine... the cats are in their run but the temperature is creeping up so not sure how long they will be out there.
Pandy is in her favourite spot on the high shelf above the ficus tree
while Tom-Tom is sprawled in the shade on the fake grass we bought them because the cat run is all gravel.
It's supposed to be spring here in Brisbane but its going to be 32 degrees (90F) today and tomorrow is supposed to be 36 degrees (97F) and I don't think I want to even think about Thursday at 37 C !!
OK... this is the first attempt... not quite sure it works... I have the sneaking suspicion that peeps may think I just got a rosette at the local dog show....  bigger centre? longer legs? scrap and start over?

  1. OK, who is the cat on the computer screen? At first I thought it might be Tom-Tom, but it looks too sick. Is that your way of showing how sick you've been?

My goodness Annette. I wish I had your clothing budget. You must have gotten some very nice pieces. I'm not much of a purse person, but these are really nice.

Your temps sound like Kansas summers. I'm glad we are (supposedly) headed for cooler weather in the near future. Of course, I'm not ready for snow. Do you remember snow (JUST JOKING)?

Glad the antibiotics are starting to work. It will be good to see you back healthy again.

Happy T today. I hope it brings that bow you have in your head.

  2. I forgot to tell you how much I laughed when I saw the garden hose on the fake grass. Now THAT was funny!!

  3. I'm not sure if it was the lighting, or what, but I thought it looked better on the red than the blue. Of course, I'm not exactly sure it worked.

These are leather purses, and the fabric is cotton. In my opinion, and since you asked, I think, if you are going to add anything, the rosette is enough. I think the legs are a distraction, and don't add any interest at all. Of course, that's only MY opinion, and I believe others will have very different ones. I look forward to reading what others think.

BTW, when you added the fabric from those legs, they were patterned and may detract from whatever outfit you will be wearing when you carry the bag.

  5. Mmm diverticulitis ... not good. Hope the pain soon eases and the antibiotics work and chase it away.
The cats look nice and comfy, what a great place for them to be when it is not too hot. Pandy looks very comfortable.
You call them "bows" I call them "rosettes" - I think the round bits need to be bigger and maybe shorter tails. But then I am no fashionista so not got a clue really.
    Take care, look after yourself.
    Hugs, Neet xx

  6. Sorry to hear you have been under the weather 'divi-ticky' (as Mum calls it) can be so debilitating.

I think if you are going with those rosette bows the centre definitely needs to be bigger. Lucky you with your freebies - clever bit of shopping there.

Thank you for your lovely comment - I'm still quivering at the fact that I actually said 'yes' LOL

Hope you are soon feeling fighting fit.

    Big hugs
    Toni xx

  12. Happy T Day! I am amazed by those hot temperatures. Maybe you'd better have ICED tea. :)

Wow, you really scored with those TWO free bags. Sadly, I have not a scrap of advice to offer about the bows, but I will say that I love the bright colors of the bags.

  14. With temperatures like that, I think you should recuperate in the shade ala Tom-Tom! Hope you feel better soon!

I would ditch the tails and add a smaller rosette to the one you have already made--perhaps even a trio of rosettes, tailess! It will be fun to see what you eventually create!
