WOYWW 5th Anniversary!!

This is the state of the desk on this 5th Anniversary of WOYWW... yep, boxed up and ready to go!

This is the rest of the room... the packers come in next Tuesday and load onto the shipping container on the Wednesday, so this will be my last WOYWW from Australia. 

Here is the PIF ATC for the name below mine with an asterisk.. I have sent all the others out already and saved this one for today so its just a case of popping it in the post.

Here is the lovely Pandora, she had her 5th Birthday on Monday this week... and she is not looking forward to her flight home... :(

Tom-Tom says he will cope as long as there are treats at the end of it...  don't think he has figured out that he gets picked up next Monday and flown to Sydney, then they stay in Sydney till their flight on Wednesday to Heathrow... where they get checked over and then boarded for the night and have to catch a flight to Aberdeen in the morning of the 6th June when we will also arrive and go and fetch them from the terminal.  Poor little things.... 

Happy 5th Anniversary of WOYWW to you all but especially to Julia, thank you for thinking o f it, and keeping it going! 

T on Tuesday

I am once more joining Elizabeth for T on Tuesday... with coffee and banana bread... not a T in sight! LOL I baked the banana bread yesterday evening so there is plenty to spare!

Yesterday, whilst watering the garden, I found a teeny weeny lemon on the lemon Tree! (I knew if I kept going I would find a T for something)  I have since been and checked on it about 20 million times and it hasn't grown or turned yellow, so I think some patience is called for! 

and look what was lurking beneath my computer desk.... now there is a T for you... Terrified! This thing was huge and could really move and its huge bulging eyes reflected red when I shone a torch at it.  OK, it doesn't look too healthy in this photo, which is a bit out of focus, but it had been doused with half a can of Mortein at this stage and I still didn't want to get too close to get a good photo in case it revived itself and took revenge for being sprayed!

and to finish on a lovely T... here is Tom-Tom out in the cat run peering around the wall at me!

Curiosity and the cats...

So there was a ring on my doorbell and when I opened it there were these two very large boxes sitting there... and I then heard the sound of an engine revving up and driving away... this is how things get delivered here in Calgary... no waiting to see if someone answers the door, needs to sign for the delivery or needs help getting the boxes to the inside of the house!! ;) This trunk was inside one of the boxes... I fell in love with it when I saw it online and thought it would look pretty good as a bedside table to go with my American daybed.

I opened the drawer in the middle of the trunk and guess who turned up...

A small dark space is too good not to investigate...

and inspect the internal quality...

then a little miss decided that she should get in on the act...

and figured there surely was room for one more...

but Tom-Tom was having none it... it's his secret drawer!

What's on You Workdesk Wednesday 2nd November 2011

OK, seriously now... not only are the days disappearing and Wednesdays appearing at a frighteningly fast pace but the months are too!  When did it get to be November for goodness sake?  You know what that means? Yep... the C word has to now be seriously reckoned with!!

Does this look suspiciously similar to last weeks desk?  It does... but that is because I have been playing with steampunk dolly all week (she is on the previous post if you want to look at her) and now reverted to the LP book covers... and I sorted the binding problem by attaching chipboard edges to the cut side of the old 78's... so now I can either use my BIA or choose to fasten them down together and fold them back... not sure which route to go yet but as you can also see on my desk I have made a start on the circles of inside pages.

I put my Mum to work on the other desk with some material and my sewing machine... producing little stockings for gift cards.

and if I pan right from desk you can see the display shelves for the odd bits that I make... which is where steampunk dolly is now living.

and behind my desk is this.... Pandy and Tom-Tom obviously patiently waiting for me to go get them some treats from the kitchen!!

WOYWW 29th Dec and JYC

All that preparation and hard work and there it is gone.... Christmas is over for another year and here we are doing another What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday... the last one for 2010!!

I am still plugging away at my journal pages... still way behind but if I could get a couple of hours of good scrapping time in, I am sure I could catch up!! LOL

I finally finished the weather page... it took me two days to find those little thermometers... you know when you have something but not a cookin clue where you have put them?  I looked in every jar and box in the scraproom and finally found them in a tub on the shelf but I think they are perfect for this page!

and my gift wrap page is completed - I love my gift wrap from this year... it is double sided!!  yep, double sided Christmas paper, I found a huge roll of it in Costco this year but as its 45 metres long I may have it for a couple more Christmas' yet!! ;)

Here is Pandora on the high ledge with one of my Christmas presents next to her... a wire dress form to go with the bird cages that live up there.

Tom-Tom also had to inspect the new item on the ledge....

Happy What's On Your Wwordesk Wednesday to everyone... hope you are all ready for Christmas!!

Hmmmm, so on my work desk this week are still pages of my Christmas Journal... have completed a couple more but I am sadly dragging my feet on the keeping up to date front! 

The weather page is waiting for a photo of the snow... I have quite a few of those to choose from!!

The Lists page is done with most of my lists having satisfactory ticks against the items...

I was planning to have a session of catch ups today but then the Chinook blew in and gave me a headache, it makes concentrating difficult but the plus side of the Chinook is that it brings lovely warmth to the region and a break from the freezing temps.  I bet there are a few folk back in the UK wishing for a Chinook just about now, I think I picked the right year to experience a Canadian winter!!
