Four years... it seems totally unreal that this weekly jaunt through peoples' desks and craft spaces is 4 years old. I first started doing WOYWW when we were living in Saudi Arabia in 2009, since then we have lived in Canada, had 6 months at home in Scotland and now we are in Australia. I am sure that Julia has no idea what her weekly WOYWW really means to many of us. To me, it is a wonderful constant in my ever changing world, a connection to so many like minded people, many of whom have become personal friends even though we have never actually met!
These are the ATC's I made for the 4th Anniversary Swap. I thought the theme of Time Flies was appropriate for the anniversary.
All stamped with WOYWW4 and today's date.
Backs all signed and dated.
and little protector envies to keep them safe on their travels
and into their stamped envelopes, which have been addressed and stamped and are on their way...
except for the list one... which will go in the post as soon as I know who it belongs to!! Eugene, the wee mannie that runs my local post office (I know, it says a lot that I have only lived here a few weeks and we are on first name terms) was impressed with the envelopes and promised to put proper Ozzie stamps on them... none of that printed out version because I said they were going to artists!! Way to go... so now all my swappees are artists... because Eugene and I said you were... ;)
Thank you Julia. Here's looking at another 4 years!!
It is also our Grandaughter's First Birthday today... Happy Birthday Caitlyn!
Well I'm in AWE. So much nicer than what I've made. You put mine to shame. Love what you have done, including the little envies they are being sent in.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW 4, even though my post isn't even up, yet. Maybe I should do that now!!
BTW, I'm SO glad you were at home for this one. So much more fun than being on the road or in limbo.

I love how you've made friends at the PO so quickly, no doubt they'll be seeing a lot of you during your time in Oz. Lovely atc's and lovely little grandee too. What organisation! I love the care you have put into everything, including the envelopes. I afraid the local post office (in Spain) frown on coloured or decorated envelopes and sometimes up the cost if I use them!)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit this week. happy Anniversary. Kate x #44
Ah another Aussie gosh this world is so small. We have all created the best of friends through Julia and all the thanks in the world just wont be enough. Love your ATC's you have created masterpieces all the way to the postage stage, good for you. It is fun sending decorated envelopes and seeing the postmasters face when they look at them are priceless.

Smashing ATCS and love the envies you made for them. Since I am nosey - you have lived all around and is someone in service or the job travels you off. #47
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful ATC's. You have really planned this down to the last detail...they are just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThink you have inspired me to make my envelopes nicer before I go to the post office today!
Wow. All those gorgeous cards and I couldn't make even one crappyone! You make me wish to be a better crafter. Thank you so much for stopping by and, indeed, here's to the next four.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary,
Love Rachel #48
Hi Annette, You must win the prize for the most organised with your atcs this week and they are lovely. Great idea with the time flies theme. So sorry I am late dropping in, thanks for your visit too. Hugs Mo x
ReplyDeleteJust popped back to say you really inspired me...popped into town with DH to mail off my ATC's and dropped in for a quick visit to our local scrappy store...Lo and behold I found a little holder thingy diecut there!
ReplyDeleteNot as nice as yours but lovely anyways...Now to track down the ATC back stamp for next year....
I could get into these!!!teehee
Me again. It is an accucut die...free to use if you purchase their paper.
ReplyDeleteThey trust you to be honest and let you bring previously purchased paper in.
I have used their machines before to cut 5 1/2 inch square scalloped cards that I used for Easter.
I have never just sat and perused their catalogue of dies B4...the had the little holder I mentioned, some fabulous trifold cards and some really cute favour boxes. Of course there was the usual array of awfull "cutesy" diecuts too...(
I sometimes go to their Friday night crops with my girlfriends...I think I will bring the paper and just sit and cut all night! I saw enough to keep me busy! The machines cut chipboard and they had pages with tabs and the die also three hole punched them (to create a special small book). Think I will cut a few pages and make one up for my grandaughter! She loves to make cards and is wanting to try art journalling.
Welcome to Australia!! Your ATCs look great! Do you have any to spare? I have quite a few extras and no-one to send them to :)
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th WOYWW Anniversary,
RosA # 39
