WOYWW 4th Anniversary

Four years... it seems totally unreal that this weekly jaunt through peoples' desks and craft spaces is 4 years old.  I first started doing WOYWW when we were living in Saudi Arabia in 2009, since then we have lived in Canada, had 6 months at home in Scotland and now we are in Australia.  I am sure that Julia has no idea what her weekly WOYWW really means to many of us.  To me, it is a wonderful constant in my ever changing world, a connection to so many like minded people, many of whom have become personal friends even though we have never actually met!
These are the ATC's I made for the 4th Anniversary Swap.  I thought the theme of Time Flies was appropriate for the anniversary.
All stamped with WOYWW4 and today's date.
Backs all signed and dated.
and little protector envies to keep them safe on their travels
and into their stamped envelopes, which have been addressed and stamped and are on their way...
except for the list one... which will go in the post as soon as I know who it belongs to!! Eugene, the wee mannie that runs my local post office (I know, it says a lot that I have only lived here a few weeks and we are on first name terms) was impressed with the envelopes and promised to put proper Ozzie stamps on them... none of that printed out version because I said they were going to artists!!  Way to go... so now all my swappees are artists... because Eugene and I said you were... ;)
Thank you Julia.  Here's looking at another 4 years!!
It is also our Grandaughter's First Birthday today... Happy Birthday Caitlyn!

Fat Book Page Swap

I joined a swap on UK Scrappers of fat book pages and they are just about to return home!! Yay!!  I have still to make the actual covers etc so that it is ready to put together when they arrive in the post.
This is my attempt...the idea was to try out different techniques so that we have a set of ten different ideas to play with in the future and my theme was Time Flies.  I painted the background chipboard brown and then coated it with crackle medium and then added a final coat of black paint.  I then stamped a time image and heat embossed this in bronze (some are in gold) and then sealed it with Mod Podge.  The chipboard clock face was papered in dictionery paper then the clock image was printed onto tissue paper and coated with Mod Podged.  The small clock images were printed on tissue paper and attached with Mod Podge.  I added brass wings to the clock face to represent the 'time flies' theme and hung a silver time piece on each which was filled with liquid embossing fluid.
Hanging from the chipboard page with chain is a little bottle of beads/glitter and a brass key, a little chipboard mini book and a chipboard watchface.  I really hope my swappees like them, this is my first attempt at fat book pages!

Dress Form TLC

The other afternoon Chris and I had a hour to waste before an appointment so I suggested we pop into Winners (love that shop) and I found this in the final sale section - it was damaged and reduced from $14.99 down to $2.00!!
A couple of the wires had come loose and it looked pretty drab and Chris pointed out the damage but I thought some TLC might give it a new lease of life...
I think she looks quite regal now.  I gave her a coat of a lighter shade of blue and then some crackle paint and   a final coat of pinky beige.  Added some inking to shade parts and a touch of gold to the frame lines then added some beading to the skirt lengths with the words 'tempest fugit' and 'carpe deim' and finally gave her a little flying clock as a necklace. Some rub-ons at the shoulders and sides of the bust with a flower and some feathers at the waist finished her off.
I think I might pay for $15 for her now...
and is living happily with the other dress forms and birdcages on the high shelf above the stairs.
