This is my desk this chilly Wednesday morning... you will see that I am just finishing off the 4th little Family Birthday book. Yes, 4 of them! LOL You see, there is me and my three brothers... so I thought it would be fun to make us each a birthday book of the family.
This one is for my eldest brother.
My brother with his two children.
So I added photos of the family members to the relevant month in the book.
July is a busy month for birthdays... two brothers, my Dad and my niece
and I left enough room for extra birthdays or anniversaries to be added if needed.
I used some papers for this one that I have had since Saudi Arabia so I feel great that I have made a smallish dent in the stash of papers ... its always difficult making stuff for my brothers because I have to be so careful with colours... all three of them are colour blind and see reds and browns as greens so it will be interesting to hear how he likes this!! :)
I won't bore you with all the pages... or Julia will be on my case for a very long post! LOL
I'm whizzing round all my fav blogs while the twinnies play dressing up by me 😃
ReplyDeleteWhat special books you're making....I'm sure they will be treasured.

Love those birthday books, I`ve never actually got around to making one but have watched countless videos with the intention of making them.

What lovely gifts, and such a great idea. It must be very strange to be colour blind. My nephew is and has a bright orange car, I can't imagine what colour he thinks it is, lol.

Wow, 4 books...that is quite a job. And I would be interested to hear how they liked their books...we had a colour blind guy in our art class...his stuff was always interesting colour wise...#56
ReplyDeleteA great idea and so beautifully made too. x Jo #38
ReplyDeleteYou could never bore me with any of your pictures of work you have done. Great idea and beautifully executed. I love the cover especially.

I have NO idea why it took so long for this to show up on my sidebar, but I'm here now. Your handmade books always fascinate me. Using old stash is great, isn't it? It helps get rid of things, yet use them up at the same time. And you have found the perfect way to do both.
ReplyDeleteHow did YOU get the color gene (grin)? Hope your bros like their books.
Not playing this week, but still had to stop by.
What a lovely gift idea. Happy WOYWW! #80
ReplyDeleteWhat a super idea and gift I'm sure they will love it. Anne x #40
ReplyDeleteI have a bisto gravy tube and two other round containers that would look beautiful if they were "altered". I am NEVER going to do this but I could happily send them to you and you could then alter them and give them to someone else. Email me if this is a good idea
ReplyDeleteYour book is fab and what a great idea for a gift as someone else has said I am sure they are going to love it.

Oh what a brilliant idea. I used to have one of those perpetual diaries which I kept all my birthdays in, I need to get a new one, it's gone missing somewhere along the way. Yours is a much nicer, personal one.

Those books are going to be treasured by your family. Interesting to hear how he perceives the colour choices.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week.
