The first What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday of the year!!  On my relatively tidy workdesk is a book I have been working on for the Zutter's Blog Hop - you can see my favourite scrapping tool on the right, my pink Bind It All!!

Yes, I have had a tidy up since last week... well, it was definitely in need of it!

It's also my birthday today... because I am posting this late on Tuesday night because of the time zone difference! 

Here is my Mum and myself just before we went out for dinner... upon arriving at the restaurant I found out that Chris had arranged for all our friends to be there as a surprise and I had not a clue he had been scheming anything.... which is kind of worrying really as I was sure he couldn't possibly hide a thing from me!! LOL

Chris and I took Mum off to Banff on Sunday to see the town and the Rockies in the snowy glory... Mum and I found these fab eskimo coats and had to treat ourselves!!

Here we are doing an impression of freezing... which may have worked out better if we had gone and stood in the snow in the garden!! 

The scenery was spectacular....

and the mountains look fabulous in winter!

See that wee person doing a high five?  Yep, it is me, I found these two patches of cleared snow on the river, which was frozen solid and somebody had set it up for curling!!  4 litre milk cartons filled with water which were frozen solid were used instead of whatever curling balls are called! ;)  

Hard to imagine I was standing on a river....

Dress It Up

I am going to give this challenge a go, though I may have a slightly different interpretation of the theme than Angela perhaps intended!  But, that is the fun of challenges, you have an idea of what you want to do and then you look at the completed piece and wonder what the heck happened because it sure as heck doesn't seem to look how it should! ;) I also figure that there is no hardship in playing once a month so unlike my Journal Your Christmas, I shouldn't start out nearly two thirds of it behind!!

So here she is... not looking very Impressionist in style... but perhaps I will get the hang of it before next month!!

and this is the back view... I have to admit that I am not really a sewer so my versions will be more chipboard and paper and glue than material!

Calgary Zoo Lights

The Zoo, here in Calgary, puts on an amazing display of Christmas lights over the Christmas period and Odelia and Alister and the two boys took Mum, Chris and I to see them on Tuesday evening... and it snowed and snowed and snowed!  The weather forecast said it was only going to get colder as the week moved on so we bundled up and traipsed our way round for two and half hours - resembling snowmen more and more as the evening went on.  Luckily it was only -12 degrees!! ;)

All the photos were taken by Chris.... because my little hands were tucked into big fat mittens and hiding inside my pockets and that is where they planned to stay! ;)

All that preparation and hard work and there it is gone.... Christmas is over for another year and here we are doing another What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday... the last one for 2010!!

I am still plugging away at my journal pages... still way behind but if I could get a couple of hours of good scrapping time in, I am sure I could catch up!! LOL

I finally finished the weather page... it took me two days to find those little thermometers... you know when you have something but not a cookin clue where you have put them?  I looked in every jar and box in the scraproom and finally found them in a tub on the shelf but I think they are perfect for this page!

and my gift wrap page is completed - I love my gift wrap from this year... it is double sided!!  yep, double sided Christmas paper, I found a huge roll of it in Costco this year but as its 45 metres long I may have it for a couple more Christmas' yet!! ;)

Here is Pandora on the high ledge with one of my Christmas presents next to her... a wire dress form to go with the bird cages that live up there.

Tom-Tom also had to inspect the new item on the ledge....
