WOYWW 12th June 2013

On my desk are 3 more of the anniversary swap ATCs, from left to right theya re from Julie Ann, Rosa and Neet.  I have decided that I am going to make a mini book for them when they all finally arrive and the best bit is that these little pieces of art will be doing all the work for me when it comes to decorating it!
On my other desk is what I am actually working on at the moment... a quilted sewing machine cover to match the mat with pockets I made yesterday... and I even made a pin cushion and little thread catcher... and yes, that is a seam you can see inside the thread catcher... think I need to chat to Annie and find out how to do it without the seam...
On Monday, it was a public holiday here for the Queen's Birthday... which made me laugh because nobody back in the UK had one!! Well, Chris took me to the Scrapbooking and Papercrafting Expo in Brisbane for the day and I had a wonderful time!
Here is Chris guarding my purchases while I went off to buy more stuff... ;)
and this is what I got!!   Lots and lots of fabby stash to play with... and I will have loads of time to play because Chris is off to the Philipines this weekend on business and won't be home till next weekend.  It's a shame they didn't give us more warning or I could have organised the cats and gone too!! LOL
Don't forget to leave your number when you comment... it makes it so much faster and easier to visit you!

  3. Hi Annette, I am going to have to wipe the drool from my keyboard, as I turn green with envy over all your gorgeous stash!
Thanks for your lovely ATC which arrived today (but after I took my desk pic, so it will appear next time).

  4. I'm glad it was Chris and not ME who had to pay for all those goodies! Bless his heart. He's a real sweetie. Just don't tell him I said so or he'll get a big head.

OK, I'm dense. What is a thread catcher? Of course, I like to leave my threads LONG because it adds appeal to the scrappy journals I make. Obviously, I could never make ANYTHING that awesome!!

You've already been here, but I was off to the airport for Sally when WOYWW went live. I'm number HUGE this week (oops, 21, I guess).

  5. I figure we (in the UK) don't really need another bank hol after the two in May! You a grand time tho - look at ALL those goodies, YUM!!
Love your ATCs I keep all mine in a SN@P binder - they sell nifty display pages :)
Happy WOYWW and have a wonderful week!

PS I'm usually the same re virginal pages in a new journal, but the soul course I'm on with Janet Conner has really 'unstuck' stuff, and now I can't wait to scribble and splash glue every day :)

Perhaps it is a good thing you are not going with, if this was me, I would need a week to play with it all! #43

  18. I knew thatyou'd enjoy the show - even if as suggested on FB it was a bit small..100% of something is always better than nothing! I see you've hooked into the new G45 papers..I love them and very much look forward to your creativity with them so I can copy! And get you gal, a real stitcher you've become since LilyBo had you get the machine out. Brilliant stuff.

  19. Looks like you had a fab time at the show Annette and came home with just a 'few' new toys :-) Bless Chris for being so understanding and supportive when it comes to being your stash protector :-)
Love the new sewing accessory makes too and all you need to do is put a lining in to hide the seams :-) easy peasy.
    Hugs,

  21. Nice to see you doing so much shopping (and celebrating the birthday - funny, as you say, how they celebrate there and not here (UK). Not to worry though if you got to shop!
Love your sewing mat. What a brilliant idea. I waned to make a cover for my machine but I think it might be on the agenda for next year's PlayAway so I'd better not do one because 'teacher' will make such a better job than I can.
Have a good week crafting whilst DH is away and hope he brings you something nice back because you can't go. maybe next time.
    Hugs, Neet xx 29

  33. I really need to make some extra ATCs next year so I can receive some of these amazing pieces of art. Also, wish my sewing maching was working so I could make a thread catcher, also used for scraps in card making. There is a craft fair in Orlando this month, but my gas budget won't allow a three hour drive there and back, oh well there will be others, should be a couple in Tampa which is just across the Bay. Have a great weekend. #212
