Front cover using Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante papers.
This is the side view which shows the two large matchboxes as drawers.
A thin book slides out of the gap between the two matchboxes.
I am going to add all my favourite music titles to the pages.
Then you open one of the drawers to reveal another book...
The ribbons are so that you can remove the books... a bit like battery compartments!! :)
When you open the book you see that there is a small matchbox attached to the end...
and inside of it is another wee book...
I sewed all the signatures of these books...
and decorated the pages with papers...
Then you open the other drawer to reveal a divided compartment...
and remove the smaller mini book...
all pages decorated...
ad the larger of the two mini books...
and voila... the complete set... pretty cool eh? LOL
beautiful book! I love all the secret compartments and slide out stuff! V

Absolutely stunning - but you are Queen of the Minibook, Annette! If I'd stopped to think about it, the one person I 'knew' who could pull this off, having seen the original, is you.
ReplyDeleteOh wow that is just magical.

That is an amazing piece of art!
ReplyDeletethis is terrific!
ReplyDeletea lot of secrets can be kept in all those compartments!
I'm beyond blown away. I had seen the Patience book before, but I like this one even better. REALLY! I think because yours is so much better decorated. The roses and drawer knobs are two examples of why I think this book is super. I may have to call you the Queen of Embellishments AND the Frozen North Box Engineer!
ReplyDeleteI saw the original You Tube video on this and thought - one day I'll get round to making one of these maybe not so intricate though LOL - your take on it is simply genius!!!!
ReplyDeleteWOW Annette ! just too stunning for words.. Can I ask how long it takes you to make one please ?

Loved the original video for Patience, and have wanted to have a go myself - seeing your beautiful book tho I'm not sure now that I could do it justice - you do such lovely work Annette!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Annette - looks pretty patient to me - and much easier to put back together than the original!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at your comment about the Super Bowl. It's the biggest FOOTBALL (not soccer) game of the year, between the best team in the American League, and the best team in the National League. Don't ask how teams get divided up into leagues, because I don't know. All I know is basketball, which is divided between the Western Division and Eastern Division. This year in football, there are two teams that come from the East Coast playing. And it's a BIG, BIG deal in the US.
ReplyDeleteOne of the highlights of the game seems to be the commercials that are shown. They are always the best (and most expensive) of the best. I think they start at about 2.5 Million US Dollars for a 30 second ad.
No bowling involved, but maybe some BAWLING if someone's favorite team doesn't win.
Just let me pick my jaw off the floor, STUNNING, you are sooooo gifted where do you begin to make a book/box as beautiful as this x you clever girl, Lots of hugs May x x x
