WOYWW 15th February 2012

Happy Valentines Day... I can say that because here it still is... for a few more hours at least!! ;)  So now to show what is on my work desk today....
Hmmm, yes, it looks a little manic... in the front bit is a canvas I am working on... I tried painting on it but it was not good so I have now just about managed to cover all signs of my artwork with paper and ribbon and stuff!!  It just needs some rearranging and sticking down... at the back is a pile of matchsticks because I am trying to do a tutorial for the little book of secrets... anyone know what to do with loads of matches, please tell me!!
This is what I woke up to this morning... which was a bit of a surprise as its been quite mild lately and I was getting used to not having snow!!  My friend and I had arranged to go get some retail therapy so I was out early and got it all put to rights before she arrived!!
If you look at the two photos you can see that the sun has moved across the houses opposite... yep, it took 45 minutes of shovelling to clear it all away.
Whilst out shopping I found this noticeboard... nice one eh?  Shame I didn't have it last week so that I could have done some proper names for Donna's Paris photos quizz... typical.
Oh and this teapot fell into my basket... I know... it has nothing to do with scrapping and Julia will probably be around to kick my butt... but it is fab, isn't it?  and I always have a cup of tea near my work desk!!  LOL
and this is what Chris bought me for Valentine's Day... yay!!  Now I can open it and have a play... just as soon as I have rescued the canvas...

  1. I swear! You are the luckiest person I know. A BIG KICK, no less. How wonderful for you. By the time you move back to Scotland, you will have a truck full of nothing but art supplies. I'm SO impressed. As for that canvas, I can't tell you anything on that, since I've only used one canvas in my life and I hated it. But again, I think Tramp Art is the only way to get rid of all those match sticks.

Happy Valentine's Day. It's still Tuesday here, too. And of course, happy WOYWW from # 3.

  6. What a lovely man Chris is. What a fab gift. Lucky you.
Love the photos of the snow, but a heck of a lot of snow shifting.
Great shopping, love the board and the teapot is a "must". I got one at Christmas with a bee on it and I love it.
Look forward to seeing your little book of secrets - not a clue what to do with all those matches - son once won a prize for building something with one but that was 40+ years ago so not a clue what he did.
Take care and keep creating. Hugs, Neet 29 xx

  18. Glad to see the snow is where it should be, in Canada, rather than on my drive. Love the noticeboard, once stayed in a hotel and they had something similar in every room filled with all those little bits and pieces a hotel guest might need - pins, sewing thread, spare button etc.

  25. Ooh a Big Kick! I make do with my bug but there are times I'd like something bigger! As for the matches, lay them end to end down the driveway, light one end and stand back and admire how they melt the snow for you..... or not!

  28. I think the teapot is an essential craft supply...I can't do without a cup of tea every so often to keep the creative juices flowing:)

  29. I like how your canvas is just covered with all sorts of things that hide the artwork you didn't like. Enjoy your new fun toy! As far as the matches, maybe you could go on an arson spree and melt all the snow? Or does that sound like too much work?

  30. Im not remotely bothered about you showing the teapot..would be offended if you didn't share all your great buys to make me green eyed!! Are you in a muck sweat after 45 mins of shovelling? I think I'd need the rest of the day off! Am liking the big ruched affair going on at the foot of the canvas...keep going. Matchsticks....aren't you supposed to build a ship and put it in a bottle?!

  35. Great Valantines pressy....and I love the teapot...as for the matches ...cut off the ends and they are mini planks ...you could glue them onto a journal cover and stain them ...or cover a matchbox maybe. Have fun.
