WOYWW 5th June 2013 (and the Stamp Cleaner)

Another one bites the dust... week, that is... and here we are again ready to do the tour of the desks!

 This is what is on my work desk this morning... hmmm, doesn't look very exciting does it?

 Normally when I am stamping, this is what is on my desk... a microfibre cloth, cleaner, baby wipes, and the scrubby thing for stamps... and all those things end up in different places when it comes to put them away...

So this morning I am sitting looking at them and a little light bulb went on in my head... 

So I got the sewing machine going and had a play...

and it worked!  I had the baby wipes in one pocket on the right and the cleaner in a little pocket with the scrubby thing on the left... but it looked a bit utilitarian...

and the scrubby thing moved about on the microbfibre so I added some velcro so it stayed in place and won't get lost if I go to crop or travel.

and added some pretty polka dots to the edges to pretty it up

and it works really well!  I used black because when you are cleaning stamps everything gets mucky really fast... 

and they are so easy and quick to make that I made a second one, so I can throw one in the wash and have one on the go!

I just went upstairs to make a cup of tea and there was a box on my doorstep and inside was this!  Bridget showed one on her blog last week and I commented that I would love one.... and bless her cotton socks, she only went out and bought one and sent it to me!!  Thank you so much Bridget, the tin is lovely and the tea will go down a treat too!

WOYWW - 22nd May 2013

Here we are again ready to do the rounds of the blogs of the world! I actually have two desks going at the moment (3 if you count the one I am sitting typing at)!  

When I was unpacking new furniture and things I found a couple pieces of cardboard that looked fabulous... and Chris, bless his heart, he didn't even query why I would want to keep them, just nodded in that resigned sort of masculine way that indicated he was prepared to just go with the flow, even though we had a garage full, floor to ceiling, of the stuff!  So I gathered a few bits and pieces from various drawers and cubbyholes and had sat them all on the desk till a light bulb lit up in my head.

Just look at it... I just knew it was going to be fabulous if I peeled a bit of the paper covering off!

It reminds me of honeycombs... I keep expecting to see a bee buzzing around my head at any moment.

This is it at the pre-glue it all down stage... so it may look nothing like this in the end and has been moved to a table next to me while I figure out what to do next... 

and on my desk is this... yes, ATC's for next week!  I am going to make 12, one for the woyww4 list and 4 others already have homes to go to.  That means there are 7 going begging... so if you would like one, mention it in the comments and I will do a first come first served.  I allotted $30 to postage for these but if that gets bumped up, I may make a few more, but there are no guarantees! LOL

Time ATC's

Last night I sat and made a little box for my printer's tray type house thing... so now there is something in the attic!!

 and while I had all these little squares of chipboard all over my desk I thought I may as well make some tags to hang from the roof...

and I think I got a better pic of the sewing square this morning when it was light...

hmmmm, maybe not! LOL

As it is -20 degrees outside and Chris had to go into work this morning because they have a panic on... I thought I would sit in the scrap room with a mug of hot chocolate and use up a few more bits of the chipboard offcuts so I made some Time themed ATCs and added some of the left over bits from the tray!!

They look a little washed out in this photo... they are a much richer colour and have a lovely Glimmer mist glint to them in real life.... poop! :(   A photographer I am not... I will try and get a better photo or nobody will want to swap with me!! LOL
