Tea on Tuesday

Thank you for the lovely visitors that popped in for tea last week, it was a pleasure to partake with you and return the visits - I had lots of tea!!
I only have shortbread biscuits on offer today because the cakes are actually paper ones I made.  This cup and saucer is one of my favourites, my friend Ping gave it to me when I left Saudi Arabia and it has a cmic history.  In Saudi we expat ladies had to find ways to amuse ourselves so we would have naughty lunches where each person bought a gift to a certain value and placed it on the gift table.  When the time came each person went and picked a gift and opened it... the next person could either go and pick their own gift or 'steal' the one from the previous.... Ping 'stole' this before I had a chance to as I wanted this beautiful tea set so badly!!  When I was packing to leave.... Ping put this into my shipment and whenever I use it I smile at the memories and laughter we had.
They do look rather nice on the cake stand and they have nil calories!!
If you would like to visit the other ladies for tea pop over to Kimmie, who is the keeper of the tea leaves.

  4. The cakes look so scrummy and you have my favourite type of bicuits. Did you know there is a template available to make a teacup - I'm sure you could devise something that would go wonderfully with your cakes.

Had to laugh at your comment about my 'pooter skills - I can assure you the like to that video was more luck than judgement LOL

  6. Yeah.
But at the end of the day they are still paper.
You and I may have the same thoughts on food:
    admiration from a distance.

  7. Your cakes always look like they are edible. I love the way you displayed them today, too. I'm really thrilled you came back a second week to Tea Tuesday, even though I was still gone.

Yep, Bleubeard was ready for me. He won't let me out of his sight, and I'm tickled that he is so loving and caring for once.

I so enjoy reading about your various tea stories, and it's always fun that you relive a few of these memories with us. I'll be back soon, but right now I have laundry to throw in the dryer, so I'll say have a great Tea Tuesday.

  10. Love those "nil" calorie cakes! They are the best kind! It doesn't even bother me that I can't eat them, because you are also offering shortbread. YUM!

Love your lo-cal cakes too ;)
