My Mum is flying over from France to visit us for 6 weeks and arrives on Friday... so I have a house to clean before then too... speaking of which... I had the funniest email from her with the flight details for us to fetch her from the airport on Friday afternoon... where she added that she would be wearing the red suit she had bought when with me at home in Scotland a couple of years ago.... I replied that even though it has been two years since I saw her, I thought I would still recognise her... :)
Anyways.. enough of my blathering on... you are probably here to see what is on my desk...
Looking at this photo I think I may need a new mat soon, I appear to have done a lot of damage to this one with my continuous cutting up of chipboard! I have been playing with a little book to hold ATC's, which I have made for a very special lady of the WOYWW sort. Not sure it is her style but she is very well brought up so I know she won't mention it!!
and a clue to the lovely lady in question is dangling off the chains....
BE.... now who could those initials refer to?
Don't forget to pop along to Julia at the Stamping Ground to catch up on the list of of desks revealing all their creativity this Wednesday morning!
I had a good laugh at your mom's message. TOO funny. In fact, I think it's the first time I've laughed in many days. Thanks for that.
ReplyDeleteThat little ATC book is amazing. You are the sweetest person. Seems you are always doing something nice for someone. It will be loved by whoever it is for. I know it would be if I owned it.
Sorry I haven't been around this week. Thank you so much for your kind words about my friend. It meant so much. I am off to catch up on what you've been up to, but had to say how shocked I was that those mats, which cost a fortune, are not as permanent as we were always led to believe. Happy WOYWW from number 3 this week.
Your ATC book is stunning hun really love it!Do hope your mum arrives ok with loads of flights being cancelled due to the "White Stuff"i can just see her in a santas outfit..lol coming through arrivals desk.Have a fab time and do hope she arrives safely

Actually, it didn't even occur to me. I feel like a dufus now. But I assure you, I will love it, and YES, it is definitely my style. I'll show it proudly, too. Thank you, from the dufus (grin).
ReplyDeleteIt's mouth watering. I love G45 Steampunk so much.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking of getting myself one of theose Zutter Cutter things as I too cut tons of chipboard and it's a nightmare.

Loving your ATC book - the cover and the dangles are so pretty, and I like the contrast with the robust binding and corner. I think that craft mat has tales of a life well lived.

P.S. On the subject of recognising your Mum, I actually didn't recognise mine when I went out to see her in Australia. She dressed almost exclusively in black and white here and then got colour in Oz. I bypassed the sage green lady at the airport, and she had to chase me down! Hope you enjoy your time with your mum.

Ah your Mum- priceless! It occurs to me though - perhaps she'll be in a red suit that makes her look like Mrs Santa so you won't necessarily know her!! Love the ATC book for BE. Lucky her and you're right, she's well dragged up enough to love it anyway - who wouldn't! And when you've found the 'slow down world' button - please advise.
ReplyDeleteLove the mum story. Perhaps you could stand there with her name on a sign! The ATC book is just beautiful lucky lucky BE. Enjoy the time with you mum.

I keep saying I am going to start but get distracted with other things and never do. But maybe that could be one of my New Year resolutions to make at least 1. Have fun. Hugs Jo.xx*71*
