What's the difference between....

sandals and slippers? They are of a similar shape, used for a similar purpose, albeit one keeps my toes cosy on the cold tiles of the house and the other keeps my feet from scorching on the brick paths outside... but you have to admit they are comparable.... yes they are!! OK, so one shouldn't find oneself wandering the aisles of the local village mini market in the lilac things with flowers and bling on them perhaps.... but its an easy mistake to make!! OK, OK... so they don't match the orange hat with pink and blue flowers on it.... amazingly nobody said a word... nope, not one comment!! Come to think of it, if I saw this woman wandering around the mini mart in lilac slippers and an orange floral hat I probably wouldn't attempt to speak to her either... she would obviously be deranged... maybe even dangerous... and she's British you know... they always seem a bit eccentric...

The mortification of it... they'll never invite me to join the local ladies group now....

  1. LOL, LOL, at least you didn't go out in your dressing gown as well - a sight Mum & I saw last week crossing the very busy junction in North London near Ally Pally.

  2. Hahahaha!!!

Maybe they didn't actually notice them under your abaya. Or else they were totally entranced by the orange hat!

Hope you're having a good day.

  7. LOL, You are not alone, I've done that before, they were just so comfy I didn't think about changing them before I went out, luckily I only went to mums, but they were pink fluffy & sparkly.
Anyway next year all the celebs will be doing it ... on purpose :)

  8. LOL! So funny - and an easy mistake to make. DH Mike often goes out with his sweatshirts inside out - he says his mind is on higher things, so maybe you could use that excuse:)

  14. That is so hilarious and I can so empathise with your embarrassment. The first time I met up with my UKS team mates we went to the big Craft show at the NEC. We had a brilliant day and as I put my feet up on the seat opposite me on the train home, I was horrified to notice that in my haste to get dressed and out in the morning (6am, it was dark - my excuse)I had put on one brown trainer and one blue trainer!!! No-one had said a word to me all day! I still can't live it down!

  16. Oh dear! Too too funny! I would definitely blame it on the heat - either that or you can claim to be starting a new trend..........keep posting these great stories, they're a great pick me up at the end of a loooong day!

  17. Don't even get me started about the year on holiday in France where I did my hair with a curling tong and left it to cool off while pleating the girls' hair only to forget all about myself and go downstairs for breakfast at the hotel. DH never said a thing because he hadn't noticed till we sat down and since everyone had seen me and smiled at me he thought it was better not to tell me. Imagine my surprise when I entered the lift to go back up and saw myself in the mirror. I thought people had smiled because I had a good day. I didn't kill him - but the idea did cross my mind briefly.
